I don't trust anyone that doesn't eat meat, drink beer, and carry a gun.

No more dairy products and not much red-meat......the human-growth hormones that are in those products are not good for you. They promote tumor growth.

Non-dairy ice cream.....if it's all you can have, then it's got to be good, right? Even non-dairy chocolate....yum!

Organic everything. Fruits, bread, rice milk, cereal, etc. We started shopping at Whole Foods here in Dallas and they actually have food that is very satisfying.

I had surgery in August, 2009 and since then have lost 40 lbs.

I drove a 2006 Corvette coupe as a weekend car and after surgery I made a comment on how cool the 2010 Camaro looked. My wife said, "'go for it". She said if I was planning on being around THAT LONG, then go ahead and order what I wanted.

Long story, short.....Surgery was on 8/18/09. I started driving again on 10/31/09 and on 11/2/09, I drove myself to Classic Chev. in Grapevine TX and traded the Vette in and ordered a new Camaro. Picked up my 2SS/RS, IOM, from The Thompson Group (Ron David from the fleet division at Classic) on 12/21/09. I tell everyone that I ordered a white car, but the first time I sat in it, the radiation turned it ORANGE.

For those of you that think people who eat vegan are different....you're right, we are! We may do things a little differently, especially after being given a second chance.

Bill,

Congratulations on a great story of defeating cancer... I love to hear them...I'm hoping my brother-in-law (brother) who is in the hospital at this moment fighting cancer is another success story... He is down to 88 lbs from a robust 200 two months ago...He is gaining every day though...

People make decisions based on personal experiences...I have nothing against anyone based on their lifestyle. I live in Austin, a city with the logo, "Keep Austin Weird"... Regardless of a chosen lifestyle, and you are a prime example,.... Live, Laugh, Love... your short story displayed all of those qualities...

My early comments were an attempt at humor, not an attempt to slam... I got slammed for it and thats ok, I can laugh at myself, and do often.... Cause I do some dumb, goofy, silly things a lot...

Congrats again, and enjoy that Beautiful irradiated Camaro...

Nice post, Bill, on every level. Second Chances definitely explode your mind. I wish you the best. Keep doing the right thing for yourself and all will continue to be good.

Best wishes for your brother-in-law. It is often difficult to get the type of help one needs in times of difficulty in the hospital. I hope he researches and seeks out solutions for himself. It will pay off.

Thank You Rad, and...
I agree in some ways to this comment, but as a retired medical professional, I do know that what he needs is only available in the hospital right now... Maybe when he is in shape to make those decisions... but no vegan diet, not meat diet, nor much of anything else outside of Prayers and the skill and wisdom of the best oncology care in the world is going to help him... He is recieving all of that...

Sincerly though,

Thank you...

My wife went to the University of Texas School of Pharmacy so we know well about 'Keeping Austin Weird'.

Please convey to your brother-in-law, from us, to keep his spirits up. Our prayers are with him as well as with your family.

BTW.....if you live in Kyle, could you please check to see if the SaltLick has any organic BBQ? Kiddin'!!!

Thank You Bill, for the thoughts... and Joey is a fighter...

My wife and I have a really close friend that lives in Dripping Springs, so we go by the original Salt Lick all the time... Being it is right outside of Austin, they may have something organic... i'll let you know... two pounds of Beef To fu... 1/2 lb of bean sprout chicken, 1 lb of pulled cabbage pork... lol, hold the pickles...

Take Care, and keep the tach needle bouncing off the limit stick... j/k

Prius has been recalled. Why would you want to drive a Toyota that is going to be in the shop now.

Guns are for people who are afraid to get their hands dirty and chip a nail.

Anyway, if a "raw foodist" is someone who likes their steaks cooked medium rare or less, count me in.
