35% is sweet and little or no effect seeing out at night...... Look below fromt the front window to the drivers door. Now look at passenger door.
Depends on what your state regs are too.......

Tinting by it's nature of not allowing as much light to pass through will limit visibility, so the darker you go the harder it will be to see. As mentioned before, check your laws on how dark you CAN go. Other than that, you'd just have to go to a tinting shop and look at some examples.

OP, I'm going to have my windows tinted pretty soon. I will try and post to answer your question if I can. But I'm sure by then, you will have an answer.

Shop around after you find out your state's regulations on tint. Mine was only 200.

I have 20% on the back and 35% on the sides. Looks great IMO and doesn't affect my night driving.

I used to tint windows for a living and I would say that the majority of people would find that 35% is fairly light, which is good for night driving, and it's almost dark enough during the day. It does help cut the glare and heat a bit as well, but I went darker to 20% and I will say it's a little dark at night, but if I need to, I just roll down the window if I'm backing up or something.

I drop mine off Monday. But the shop doing it are the freinds of ours that we go to the car shows with.
I'm forcing him to pay me full price as business isn't that great for them right now but I can't wait to check it out. |

In Indiana, The legal limit is 30%. I have had professional tinting on my last 3 cars & don't think I would have a car without it. A professional job should have a lifetime warranty, might cost a little more, but is worth it. I have seen cars that look like the tinting was probably done by their kids, & it looks like crap!

I have 20% on the back and the porthole windows, 35% on the sides, and a 20% strip on the front. I wanted 20% all around, but I think the legal limit here is 40%, so I didn't want to chance it, and I figured 35% (plus the tint already on the windows) was safe.
It's not as dark as I'd like, but it does look great, and it was $160 from a local shop. |

Ohio allows 50% on the front side windows and any level you want on the rear windows. I talked to the tint shop I'm going to use and they said that 50% is just too light and he recommended 35%. He did mention that the tint he uses has UV protection as well. So, I'm going to go with 35% when I get it done. Now all I need is for Spring to arrive so I can get my Camaro out of the garage and have the tint work done!
