The original question was a HEADS UP RACE. Not what should win on paper, what wins on the dyno, what wins in computer simulations... what wins in a HEADS UP RACE, a HEADS UP RACE is usually both drivers leave at the same time from 0mph and race to a predetermined point or speed. In a HEADS UP RACE between a LS2 GTO and a LS3 Camaro it really will end up being a drivers race.

Here is a HEADS UP RACE between me and a 06 6 speed GTO when I had nothing more than mufflers and he was mufflers only as well...


On paper the M6 should be faster then me since I have an automatic... I also weigh ~80lbs more then the other driver..

I'll agree with this. It is possible for an LS2 GTO to beat an LS3 SS. It's possible for a stock GTP to beat an SS in heads up race. The driver is the factor and the GTO driver has to be average to very highly skilled in order to beat a poor to mediocre SS driver. If the SS driver is average or above there really isn't any thing the GTO can do.

I think most GTO guys are a lot like you and think they have something to prove because they feel most other car circles don't accept them.
