It was the hardest part of the install for me also. I took a wide blade screwdriver and pryed it apart double the original width and squeezed it back together once I slipped it on.

That's exacly what I did, I think if I would have heated it up first it would help. I have to install one on my Charger this week, we will see.

Sometimes thats just the way installs go. Someone will step in with a fresh view and opinion and help you figure it out. Heat exchanger in my 04 cobra was like that.

I guess I'll be in the garage today when my husband installs the CAI on my camaro. thanks for the tip on heating the gasket up with the hair dryer.

You'll never live that down, trust me. You'll have to do something very manly to make up for this like grow a beard, hopefully she cant do that even if she tried. If so your problems are much worse then expected!

I installed the Airaid CAI on my 2009 Charger R/T tonight, and it was easier than the Camaro. The trim piece slid right on, probably because the box is metal, I was ready for a fight. The IAT (Air flow sensor) was a pain, dodge needs to copy Chevy's.

Absolutely the 20 min walkaway saves hours of frustration. My rule is as soon as i wanna throw a tool or stab the fender with a screwdriver I walk away.
