Just installed the Hurst shifter and have to say it is GREAT!. Nice crisp short throws. No noise issues other that a nice snick from gear to gear. No vibration issues. Much more confident feel compared to stock. And it looks great with the cue ball knob.

I had a Pro 5.0 on my 4th gen SS and it made quite a bit of noise that was more than annoying.

Well I just want to say, I'm glad I installed it anyway because it does NOT make one single sound out at all!! I don't have any vibration in any gear, whether my hand is resting on the shifter or not. I put the Hurst stick and white knob on, and it looks gorgeous!! I turned my radio down and put the windows up (my exhaust isn't even very loud) and I didn't hear any noise whatsoever. I hear that Hurst is offering shims or something now to reduce vibration, this kit was made well before that was in place, and I didn't modify anything when installing it. I am so happy with this thing!! It shifts hard but very crisp and the throw is sooooo short now! All I can say is Hurst did a great job on this thing!! Thank you Hurst!!!

I'll post some pics up later, and if anyone wants a ride to hear or feel this thing for yourself, let me know
Congrats,

A shifter change took my driving experience to another level... quite dramatic... I happened to go with another Brand, but I'm glad your enjoying yours... I Love my MGW as well...

Keep the rubber side down and the tach bouncing off the limit stick...

For Custom Shift knobs Try this:

http://prostores3.carrierzone.com/se...com/StoreFront

I just got off the phone with them and the basic knobs all have the same thread pitch and size as the Hurst Shifter, so it's all good. They have some 8-Ball, Military style and Nostalgia knobs that would be perfect for my needs.

I got mine through http://www.southerncarparts.com/ who happen to be a Vendor here. Same $319.95, but I paid shipping, so not as good a deal as the above but I had it in 3 days which more than exceeded my expectations. I like dealing with folks that WANT to deal with us as Camaro owners, and that is why I bought here. NO COMPLAINTS!!

Mike,

I had the same experience. I had my installed about 1 month ago & there is absolutely no noise, vibration or any other problems. I love the look & the definite shifts.

You can use the stock handle and knob with the Hurst if you want to.
