Get the porter cable 7424xl. You can get it with pads at adamspolishes.com
If you use the coupon code JUNKMAN you'll get 10% off. I'm ordering mine this week. |

I have heard the Porter Cable is good, do you need to be careful on the edges or creases of the paint?

Question about using a random orbital buffer for polishing. I have a random orbital buffer that I got from Walmart, it's fairly cheap, but seems to work well. My question is, do you just put the product (ie polish or wax) directly on the pad, or do you use the correct "shower cap" that goes over the pad depending on the job your doing?
I've watched the Junkman's detailing videos (props Junkman, those videos are GREAT) and he uses actual polishing pads for doing the polishing, and the same for waxing. What would you recommend for best results? On my old ride (an '06 Charger R/T) I used the shower caps, but I don't know if I got the best results possible, especially in the polishing department. |

Dual Action is the way to go and there is lots of information out there. A few links where you can learn more about how and what tools / products to use.

If you want some more "layman's" types of videos, check out my little corner of Adam's Forums. I break it down in an easy to follow, no big words method. I'm surprised that you haven't stumbled across my threads here at Camaro5. They're all over the place. All of the questions that you have, have been asked by someone else already. There is a plethora of good info right on this fourm.

I know the PC is popular and I am about convinced to buy it but one more thing. People tell you not to buff your car too much or your damaging clear depth. So with this said how true is this and how often would be ok and safe to buff a new car and recommended?
