Wow, glad you're okay, sorry for your loss. Sidebar,is it just me? The Camaro's headlights without the grille kind of remind me of Terminator when we first discovered their was a red-eyed robot inside of him, LOL... but there is a beast behind the Camaro's mask too!

2nd don't forget civil court for excess damages.
The 25k limit wont apply there.
And in civil court the person waving him on could be held liable too.

civil court is way loser then crminal.

think OJ

Also go after assets, not money if need be. Anyone can claim to have no money but cars, trucks, boats, tools, houses..... cannot be put in red on paper like money.
You ever work insurance claims? "lawyering up" without the need will just cost you 33 -40 percent, why would you want to give it away? No injuries = no need for an attorney.

Car is not a total loss, however, it does qualify for diminished value as long as the state where the accident occured allows for diminished value.

Too little knowledge about something is dangerous, I would suggest a little research into the subject matter.

Oh, and I almost forgot, civil court is the only way if you decide to sue, the only other option is criminal court and we may think the other driver participated in criminal activity for trashing an awesome car, unless he/she was drunk, on drugs or involved in some other illegal activity, it would never go there anyway. Stupid is not a criminal activity in this case.

Were you holding the camera upside down when you took the pictures?

Iphone must of be upside down sorry. The latest is that progressive has ordered the body shop to tear down the whole front end. They will be doing a piece by piece estimate. They also stated they will send the engine to GM and have the top end taken off and checked for any damage or foreign material. Then they will decide if they will total it. Sucks too because monday they said totaled strip aftermarket parts off and they would be getting with me soon. So I did and sold many parts cheap and now they are acting like its a maybe on rebuilding.

As an multy line insurance adjuster for many years I can say it's normal for an insurance company to "open Up" you car for an internal inspection. Your car is a "Constructive total loss". It's NOT normal for them to "send your engine to G.M." for an inspection and I doubt that can be done. I also worked for Progressive for 6 months before walking out the door- They usually hire novices as adjusters/appraisers and very few know what they are doing. In my opinion your car should be totalled. I hope your in Progressive's rental car all this time and I agree don't forget the diminished value promise &/or threat.
Good luck !.

Sorry to hear that your car is destroyed. I am happy to hear that you survived. Accidents are never fun. I was hoping to see you again at C5Fest. Will you be replacing your car with another Camaro?

At least you were ok. Looks like the car crumpled where it was supposed to - but that open turbo intake was in worst possible place

:( I am so very sorry for you and your Camaro...that seriously sucks and I would be as devastated as you are if the same happened to me...

I am glad YOU are ok and hope all of this works out to your best advantage in the end...

What a sad Camaro photo, :(
I cannot even imagine what your photo would have looked like if someone had taken it at the same time as the pics of your car were taken...

Good Luck and God Bless............

There is no sending anything to GM. It's more like, they call the dealership and say - hey, check out the motor, does it still run OK?

I'm sorry to see your beautiful, awesome car in this state and I hope everything works out well. I see people play Mr Helper all the time and it makes me mad every time. A coworker was put into your exact situation a couple years ago and it took BMW 3 months to get all the right parts from Germany. About a month after that I was almost in your same situation - I slammed on the brakes and stopped about 6" away from the other car.

1) Never wave people out into traffic.
2) Never, EVER trust some dimwit waving you on.
3) If you have to cross lanes through traffic that is stopped, you should just make a right turn and go with the flow instead. Drive down the road a block or two and turn around in a parking lot. Should be common sense... oh well.

Those who do 1 & 2 deserve to have their licenses revoked. What makes me so mad is the dolt who waved the car out into traffic was equally responsible yet they never seem to be made to share in the misery of the situation they helped create.

(Grrr, my apologies... pet peeve.)

That situation is exactly what happened to me when I got into my accident. Traffic was stopped. Somebody waived the other guy on to cross the stopped lanes to make a left out of a parking lot. The guy driving and the guy waiving did not see me traveling down the left turning lane. He stuck his nose out there, and bam! 30MPH crash.

What is the law in Ga. defining a totaled auto. In Texas is must be totaled with 75% of its current value. What is the value before the accident? What is the value of the the known body damage. Get good pictures, have your expert write up appraisal too.

Talk to the company that installed the engine mod and what has the motor sucked up. get samples, high defination pictures, and get their report in writing. Contact the mfg of the supercharger they are experts in their business. Have them write you letter about the supercharger damage and the know damage to the car motor. You should be able to get thousands of dollars with the hidden engine damage.

Do you have a Ga. State insurance board. I bet you do.....Insurance companies don't like to be reported to State boards. Send copies of all paperwork pictures and list any delays in lack of use of this car. Show indecision on the insurance co. Show your expensives. They have to put you back in the same shape you were before the accident.
