Painted Aluminum for Midnight Silver finish

Ok, I know this is a long-shot. When I bought my 2SS/RS, I wanted the midnight silver finish wheels, however, all they could find was one with Painted Aluminum. I'm looking for a switch. Is there anyone out there who wants a change too? Same-same, pricewise, just not dark enough for me.

Oh, East Coast perfered...don't want to drive to Cali this week

I thought about that, but the powder coating place wants 600 bucks AND I have to have the tire/weights stripped off before they will take them...this is my only car, so it's difficult.

I was hoping for a switch-a-roo with someone interested over a 6 pack of beer (on me).

Yup, that's a good point! Good luck!

Just Curious....How did you get a SS/RS without the Midnight Silver "MS" wheels. The MS wheels are a part of the RS package. The only way to NOT get the MS wheels with the RS package would be to upgrade to the polished aluminum or 21's. Are you absolutely sure that you don't already have the MS wheels??? They really are not that much darker than the regular silver. It's actually kind of hard to tell the difference unless you have them right next to eachother. It was just a thought, because I think my MS wheels are not dark enough either!!!

Yeah, you're absolutely right...they're chrome. I had a vision for this car...no chrome...but I'm embracing the little chrome on the car. I still want those MS wheels though...so trade MS for Chrome anyone?!?!

I'm confused! Are you saying you have the Polished Aluminum Factory Wheels, or some aftermarket chrome wheels??? If you wanted to trade your Polished Aluminum 20's for MS wheels, I wish I was closer!!!! I would do that in a heart-beat!!!!

Im guessing he went with the chrome upgrade option when he ordered car and now wants the original ms wheels. I am sure someone out there wishes they had the chrome instead so hopefully it works out for you.

What "Chrome" upgrade option are you talking about?!?!?! There is no Chrome, only the polished aluminum (at least in the 20's). I've seen a few people get their factory wheels chromed at a shop, but there isn't a chrome option from the factory.

When in doubt...I'll ask my dealer. I wanted the dark rims that came with the RS package, but when it showed up it had...not that. They are the 20's that came with it, nothing after market. Is that aluminum like I originally thought, or chrome?

It sounds to me like you have the polished aluminum upgrade. Like I said, I wish I was closer to you, I would definitely swap with ya!!!! You shouldn't have a problem finding someone willing to swap, the trick will be finding someone close enough...

Are they " natural " finish on the inner wheel or painted black behind the spokes?

There are NO " chrome" GM wheels.

The " darker" wheels do not exist...only the GM web site made them look that way.

If they are black behind the spokes they are the MS wheels.
