A friend of mine decided to put 315/35/20 tires on the stock rear wheels. I told him that it was a bad idea

But guess what.....they look GREAT!

I took pictures with my Bberry, I can email them to someone who know how to post them.

His idea is to put the stock 275s on the front. I will have more pictures tomorrow with all the tires set. (315 rear 275 front).
BTW he bought the pzero run flat tires THEY ARE EXPENSIVE (500 a piece)

yes they will FIT, but not a recomended tire size for the wheel. IF he ever has any problems with them....he may be hard pressed to get the warrentied.

His problems will start to happen when he goes into a hard turn or corner and the tire rolls off the rim (not likely, could happen) or when he breaks the side wall cord and a big bubble bulges out (very possible).

i would not recommend running that tire size on our stock rims. Just a matter of time before something goes wrong.

Not to be negative, but yes they can fit on those rims, but you have gone outside of the physical range the tire is made to function properly. It can roll off, overheat, hyperflex, fail at high speed, and it will usually wear incorrectly in the center patch. Just a few things to consider. Hope it works out.

Good example of form over function. Wider tires to not usually improve performance when used on improper wheel widths. The problem with pulled-in and bulging sidewalls is that they often make the outer edges of the tread rounded off, causing the center of the tread to stick out more. So, you end up with a round tire tread contact area on the ground, instead of flat like it should be. It is likely the outer edges of the tire will wear more slowly than the centers. I'd like to see pics of these tires when the car is on the ground, with the factory air pressure in them. To see how the lower sidewall bulges.

The good news here is that it will be harder to curb those wheels

He told me that it required 3 man to fit the tire into the wheel, dont know if that helps during hard turns.

I have run oversized tires on almost every camaro I have ever had. Thats not even that drastic of a size difference. Ive never had a problem I think their well in the safe zone, I cant wat to see pics because I wanted to do the same thing.
