GUESS WHAT HAPPENED AGAIN ?

Your not going to believe this, after my trial on thursday and my case was dismissed when the officer did not show. I got pulled over again today Saturday 2 days later. Now I am convinced that the color does make a difference. Me and the wife was heading up to Pa. in seperate cars, her's a new camaro dark blue metalic no stripes and my Bumblebee with black stripes, both tinted the same. My wife was following me. We get 15 miles up the road and a Maryland State Trooper was coming the other way made a 180 went by my wife squeezed in between me and the wife put his lights on and pulled me over. First he says I did not have a front plate which I did have a flip plate and it was more on the passenger.s side rather then the middle do to the flip plate mounting. then he says I had Illegal tinting. which I did not and showed him the papers from the tint company that it was 35 percent including factory tint which is legal in Md. then he say's my front window tint was below the legal limits. and I said no because of the bow in the window on the ends only will it be below the line. so he takes my license and comes back to the car and issues me a warning for my front window tint and tells me what a nice car I have and drive safe. Now you tell me the Bee's are not targeted.

You got pulled over because of the plate, it was angled towards the passenger side, not in the middle and thus easier to miss at first glance. Being in front also ensured even if both cars were the same yours was noticed. But it is a fact that bright colors draw the eye's attention which means more scrutiny.

Here in NJ you will get pulled over anytime just for tinted windows. Since I got my Maro, yellow with no tint, I have not been pulled over. Yet my neighbor with a black infinity all blacked out, windows, plate etc. He get a ticket every week. Take the tint off.

I hope it wasn't one of those Charger MD state troopers..... dodge vs chevy LOL. At least you got out of it.... all the cool colors are definitely targeted.

Its called arrest me yellow for a reason.
They look fast standing still. [same with red]

Unlike dark colors that hide their visual speed.

At a distance they look to be traveling slower then bright colors.

Nothing is sadder than a cop who keeps digging and digging to try and write a traffic ticket. Should of let him write you then gone to court and embarassed him. I had a judge tell me "its not impressive when marines get arrested"....for me driving on an expired IL license..which was extended until my EAS. After they dismissed it I told the judge "Its not impressive when your officers dont know traffic laws".

This was after I showed him my military ID and explained the extension to him. But to stay on topic yeah Red/orange/yellow = you should just pull over before they hit the lights.

I would argue that the officer used the "missing front plate" (and tinted windows) to pull over the RY Camaro, which caught his eye much more than the IBM Camaro?

I do believe there is something to the theory... I think color impacts a person's (lawman or otherwise) image of the driver, especially when there is little other information. (we're all a little prejudice, even if we don't know it)

We can't help but put our own imagination to work. Even with only little bits of information to go on... its a Camaro... its bright Yellow... Tinted windows, we make judgement. It's human nature... or just plain natural.

But in the end, I don't think good lawmen make critical decisions based on color or any one element of a situation. Hence, lawful good!
