Question about custom interiors and mailslot delete.

Okay, I've got two questions, hopefully to be answered by people who have had this done or know what it would take to have it done.

First: Does anyone have a good idea of how much it would cost to have a "mailslot delete" done to an SS front fascia? Sanding, filling, repainting, the whole shebang. I'd go with trying to find a V6 fascia but it seems to me (correct me please if I'm wrong) that the GFX don't appear able to bolt on correctly to a non-SS fascia. The SS fascia has kind of it's own chin spoiler thing on it, on which the GFX appear to bolt up to, whereas the other ones don't. Maybe a mailslot delete operation would be easier? IDK.

Second: I'm sure one of you custom interior junkies (*cough*indpowr*cough*) would have an idea of how much it would cost to get something done to the seats of an IO interior. I've previously stated in other threads that I like the IO interior all except for the orange seat faces on the front and back seats. I like the embroidery, the orange gauge cluster glow, orange ambient lighting, etc. Just those orange faces... not doing it for me. I'd love for it to look like a stock, factory black SS leather seat, but make the embroidery orange. So my question is... anyone know how much it would cost to change the color of the seat faces in an IO interior?

By the way, mods, if this belongs somewhere else, my apologies. One question was exterior and the other was interior. Couldn't decide where it belonged.

I've seen it. It's just a filler that you plug into the slot and paint over it. I'm talking about custom bodywork on the fascia itself to fiberglass it up and repaint it. Basically doing it the "hard" way.

Just put a Knight Light in it. They're working on one for the Camaro.

Agreed not a fan of it but though I would suggest as starting point

For the seats, I think your best bet would be to try and find someone who wants the orange seats and swap for their black ones, then just redo the embroidering. I know that DSV does both front seats for like 1500-2000 or something like that.

Hmmm... The thought of trading for black seats and switching embroideries did cross my mind, however I wasn't sure how much it would cost... Would it really cost 1500-2000 just for embroidery work?

Remote Mailslot Protocol Specification

Quote:
1 Introduction
The Remote Mailslot Protocol is a simple, unreliable, insecure, and unidirectional interprocess communications (IPC) protocol between a client and server. A mailslot server creates a mailslot, and a mailslot client writes messages to the mailslot created by the server. The server then reads these messages, thus achieving communication between the client and server. A mailslot is represented locally on the server as a file.

Seriously though...If you just paint the black slot body color, it will be minimized.

Getting bondo, or similar to stick on the plastic fascia may not be feasible.

They do make repair kits for fascias, that may include necessary materials to fill in the slot.

It may crack later though...

Yeah... the only thing is, if I get a ram-air style hood, the two slots will look dumb. Am I right in thinking the V6 fascia is unable to have the GFX chin spoiler bolted on correctly?

In that instance, you could use the SLP filler panel and then just bondo the seems. Less body work that way.
