1) The sales person whom I just spoke gave me a quote for the SS...

$38-$40K :( for a fully loaded SS per the GM manager that comes to the store... guessing poss. a regional?

2) Any one in Ohio i have two dealers who promissed no more than MSRP and are ready to take orders.

3) He said there is talk of a bumble bee production car in limited number but does not have the details @ this time..

4) The some what confusing ordering of packages may be easier than thought.... i want a SS with leather seats and center consule guages but not all the options from the 2SS. He said that what he has seen from other models there should be a model or way to mix/ match so you wont need to get a 2SS for those options... poss dealer/GM option @ the same price?

Hope this helps in some way?

Probably a little high, but for a fully loaded SS .. I don't see this as unreasonable .. I still say fully loaded will be 36k - 38k .. somewhere in there ... who knows .. maybe higher ..

I can see $38k for a SS2/RS including sales tax, tag, title and all the bogus dealer fees but $38k MSRP seems a bit too high to me.

You should not be adding the "Bullit" package to the mustang. That is all marketing. You are paying for a "special" edition. You don't get anything other than a memorable plaque on the dash. Compare the pricing of a Premium GT with similar options. It seems a few on this sight are having a hard time accepting some of the Mustang "special ed-itions" may be overpriced.

Awesome. This makes me feel better.

I am placing my pre-order today and I really want the 2SS/RS.

Thanks!

Just built a Mustang GT ..

28,725 base price
after all the options I wanted: 34,600 (including destination fee).

So a camaro with a bit more power and IRS, I can see that coming in at least 1.5k - 2k higher than that (and selling quite well)... even at 1.5k that would put it around 37.1k before taxes ..

And where did you see this? There was an old article that said that but it wasn't true. If you have something new that says that then please post the link, but that would be about the stupid possible thing GM could do. If they want to sell any of these cars, much less 100k, they are going to have to be priced very closely to Mustang, no way around that.

performance wise the mustang is not competition. sales wise it is the car to beat. you didnt understand what they meant.

MSRP will be right around 30K for the SS. There's a lot of options out there. Add them all up. It could get expensive for some of us.

I know the price is not official, but it is to be premium priced and i think a fully loaded ss would be around 32-35k

i agree. let analyze this. 38-40K would be too much. i think that 33-36K would seem more reasonable. think about it... then what would the convertible cost...$45K??? I think that especially in this car market that that price range would price the car out of its domestic market and consumers would opt for a different alternative. Understandably it is going to be a nicer more powerful car than the mustang, but it wont be 6-8K more which is also agreeing with a previous thread, they arent going to tell you less and then its more. On the flip side, GM cant afford for the camaro to fail. Through my experience in the car business, Too high of a price expectation (MSRP) will result in a loss of volume sold. In turn, larger rebates will follow on the vehicle to put the car at its correct price point so sales will raise.

Just think about it this way, there are several factors that will keep the price lower than what people may think. First of all, we are all Camaro fanatics and think/know that the Camaro is worth more and are possibly willing to pay more. However, we only make up a very small percentage of the target audience, which works to our favor as far as price goes. The general consumer will see price as the major differing factor between the mustang and the Camaro. Another large factor that will help everyone looking for a new car is the huge decline in car sales. All cars are and have already begun dropping in price. If GM comes firing out the gates with an overpriced Camaro it is going to fail miserably and be hard to recover because it will leave a sour taste in consumer's mouths. There will be a premium over the Mustang, but it won't be near as much as a lot of you are expecting.

if the base SS is hypothetically going for 27.5k then a fully loaded 2LT/rs would be about 26-27k... maybe?
