hmmm 4 things off the dollar menu or a gm stock or 2 ford stock. You better get the food. With the media telling everyone to take all their money out of stocks and the all out fear bs that has spread out of control its hard to really say what is certain right now other then this not getting better anytime soon unless people stop being idiots.

Since the beginning of Sept. I have lost more than what 2 new Camaros are worth. Depressing? Very. But the stock market is not a get rich quick scheme... it will take time, it will come around. What worries me the most is that I am waiting for the convertible, now I have to play the waiting (and worrying) game.

On the positive side... there are now 2 stations by my house selling gas for $2.99 a gallon.

They'll be fine, they are just in line for their government bailout. Usually i would be joking, but it makes me mad that i might be right.

Don't get your hopes too high on that front either. Oil prices per barrel dipped below $85 today. Guess what OPEC does...calls an emergency meeting to approve cutting back production. I guess $3 a gallon gas is too cheap for them these days when this time last year it was under $2.50.

This is really good news. Seen anyone else's stock this low in this many years? Good time to buy. GM will even go bankrupt and not be disolved. I'd hate to even suggest it to buy Ford stock, but Ford is not making any strides in making a significant hybrid or "volt-like" production. GM has hybrid SUVs and the volt and the Camaro.

OK, let's say you are Joe Investor. You just pulled out of what ever because it's really volitile out there. Wait until after the election, maybe even after the new year. Buy some GM stock which you know will jump with the Camaro launch in March. Hold, and watch your money grow like you never seen before. Watch the energy market. If it gets dicy again. Sell at the slightest jump if you want. Prime time to make money.

Do we all forget what happened back in the 70's?

You know...someone else said the same thing when GM's stock dropped to $8 or $9 per share not too long ago. If we had followed that advice then, we'd have lost 40-50% now. Just a thought...:(

I feel like buying 10,000 shares of GM right NOW! That is a no-fail position right there!

Your 401k could use a stock like GM and Ford right now...double up your holdings. They are not going anywhere any time soon. Look at Chrysler back in the 80's; Government gave them a loan, moved a bunch of cars, Chrysler had some success with the K-car and Minivans...BANG! Next thing you hear is Mercedes buys them up for the cash they had in reserve.

GM and Ford just received money from the government, and there is a great future we see in the GM pipeline...and the incentives (taxes) on the VOLT will really push people to buy that car in droves. Even if gas goes down, people are looking at a greener lifestyle, and the volt fits that perfectly. Ford will surely come up with something attractive to the new generation of buyers in the coming years. So, buy these stocks while you can at a bargain and hold them for the long term. Your kids will thank you, or you may get to go to the retirement home that was NOT featured on 60 minutes with the money you make!

?????????????

It IS Good news?

First - if GM (and Ford and Chrysler) go bankrupt, YOU, the taxpayer will be taking over the existing pension plans -- brace yourselves...........

You DO realize, don't you, that you're not only talking about the condition of General Motors -- but the survival of the tens of thousands of suppliers and vendors to each company - and their employees and families - and then there are the 7,000 GM dealers out there and THEIR families and suppliers...........

This is NOT good news -- sorry!

This is where OPEC is going to have to suck it up. We are drilling and we are making hybrid.

Hey, you guys. I have some trivia for you. Actually. I want you to look up hybrid sales in the Middle east. Also, our president roles around in Chevy Suburbans. Their leaders role around in Phantoms, Benzes, Landrovers and Maybachs. I say we stop buying from OPEC as soon as we can. We need to look into saving Venezuela from the tyrany of Hugo Chavez. Fact: Venezuela is the 8th highest producer of oil in the world. Iran is 5th. The market share is 4.3 percent to 5 percent. We import from Canada wich is out highest importer. We are 3rd behind Russia and Saudis. Yet, I see a crap load of poverty in those countires in the middle east. Do we really need to buy from OPEC after we cut out consumption buy 25% over the next 5 to 10 years? Pull the reserves to compensate I say. I know it's a bit radical. How 'bout them apples?

I'm getting Perclept. Talk amongst yourselves. Discuss.
