Question for the C5 Law enforcement officers

If your x-wifes boyfriend is a police officer, and pulls you over for bullshit reasons (crowding the yellow line) can that be considered harassment? or would it hafta happen several times b4 one can say anything?

You'd have to prove it. That's going to be a tough one in court. Word against word I think you'd know who wins. Nothing personal, just speaking from 5 years experience.

I am not a cop but I think that it would be very easy to prove. File a report with the internal affairs department at the police station. It is too much of a coincidence not to be harrasment.

You can file but it's not going anywhere. Coincidence or not, one time can hardly be called harrasment. Believe me when I say if there is no paper trail, it isn't going anwhere. I encourage to file a complaint so the guy gets the hint, but if you involve IA and with no basis, you will be labeled a "chronic griever" and you will not be taken seriously in the future.

The best revenge is living well. Take pleasure in the fact that he is now stuck with your ex.

Did he actually write you a citation or just act like a dick?

He did say "reasons", so my impression was this was more than once. OP will have to elaborate on that though to be sure. If it has been more than once, I would think that perhaps he has a greivance.

being a former cop myself you need to document the time(s) the he pulls you over and what for, this will be your only way to prove harassment. be accurate with with what goes on. not only documenting the bad things said or done but also the posivite.(just make sure the bad out weights the good) this will weigh heavy with the judge.

If you don't produce evidence, this won't go anywhere in court. Since you've been pulled over once, you can file something about that one time indicating that you are suspicious of the circumstances involved. If it happens again, file again.

Also, if this has happened more than once...it might happen again. Have your camera phone ready to record what goes on during the next stop (don't make it obvious, just have it for the voice alone).

OOO OOO buy that in-car camera thingy that someone was selling on the forums. I believe he made it just for this purpose: being harassed/stopped often.

The best revenge when someone takes your wife is to let them keep her.

cant you see somehow if this is the first time that he has ever pulled someone over for crowding the yellow line? if this is his first time in 10 years on the force and it was you kinda sounds to be more then a coincidence

Thespymaster is the member that sells the car cam

i would also think that if you dont have a bad record and havent had any tickets anytime recently then all of a sudden this one particular officer keeps pulling you over (even if somewhat legitimate reasons; laws that no cops ever write tickets for) then you should be able to convince a court that hes specifically harassing you. on the flip side of that, you never know what kind of connections he has or whos palms he may grease!

im not a police officer, nor am i saying police in general are shady and corrupt, but there are some out there. and if he is willing to risk his job to harass you then you never know what else he might be willing to do!
