As soon as I heard they were bringing the Camaro back!!!

Got excited before I even saw the concept, immediately picked up tix for the LA Auto Show. Got there for the second day the concept car was on display, and that was it. It was weird because I was excited, but apprehensive that the car might suck. Talk about a pleasant surprise!

I've been waiting on this car since 2006, and still waiting. Less than a year left though!

After being employeed by Chrysler I was a Hemi fan never thought twice about any Chevy product, never had an interest. I had ordered a SRT8 Challenger B5 blue to be exact. I had alot of experience with the Challenger love the car alot. I became employed by GM Febuary 2009,got to know the products started to realize that Chevrolet vehicles are actually built better than Chrysler products, but Chevy didnt have any models that appealed to me, than the first Camaro showed up. I drove it and fell in love, this car ROCKS!!! I felt the difference in power, handling and ammenities. I cancelled my order on the SRT8 and bought my Camaro. I am not done yet with this car I will own another as soon as GM annouces what the plan is for the Z28. I still have a place in my heart for the Challenger and in the process of purchasing a used RT since my money needs to go to the Z28 if it stays in a V8 form hopefully supercharged.

I wasn't even shopping for a car. Had no need for a 2 door car. Already have a fine daily driver and a Jeep for inclement weather. Then I saw the concept car Then I found out they were offering the LS3 mated to a 6 speed manual
I researched it for 6 weeks then pulled the trigger. To this day I consider it an impulse buy. Now I can't imagine life without it!

Several yeras ago (2007?) it was here as a concept at the Houston Auto Show and it caught my eye. But in 2008 at the same show when the Chevy guy said less than 31K for the V8, I was hooked. Up until then I was thinking new P/U, but then I was pretty sure a Camaro was in my future. I saved some $ for it, waited for demand to fall a little for a better deal and ordered it. Now expecting delivery of a IOM SS2 any day.

Well my passion for the camaro strings back to high school, when my best friend had one, I later ended up buying one and stumbling across my site shortly after..

then fast forward to Jan 2006.
I was lucky enough to be invited to the Detroit Auto Show along with 299 other Camaro Enthusiast where the 2006 Silver Concept made her first public debut. You cannot describe the emotion in that room.. It was simply breath taking! From that first moment, I knew if they built it I would without a doubt have one.

May 2006,
I was invited to Milford, MI to the GM Proving grounds to test drive the Silver concept. WOW! Drove around the test tract with Al Oppenheiser ridin shot gun. An experience I will pass onto my grandchildren. When I came home that following week I went to the local dealer and started a waiting list. If they were gonna build it I wanted first dibs here locally in Louisiana. The dealer told me I was crazy at the time...lol... little did they know...

Jan 2007
My wife and I was invited back to the 2007 Auto Show for the unvielling of the 07 convertible and also attended the GM Style Event. What an awesome event..

Sept 2008
Indy, IN Went to Camaro Reunion where they unvieled the production model. Then during the Auction at the Banquet I won the bid for a ride in the test mule around the Indy track. Turned out I was riding with Al Oppenheiser again..lol So he tossed me the keys and I drove her around the Indy track. Got her up to about 90 mph briefly before I was told to slow down..lol

Ordered my car Oct 13th 2008
Picked her up May 14th 2009

The wait seemed like it took for ever from the first time I layed eyes on the concept till signing the papers and getting my own set of keys. But I have to say the complete experience has left me with many many stories I will be able to share for a lifetime.

I am now on the waiting list for the Z28

When I turned 16 in 1999 I knew I wanted a brand new camaro I could not afford one at the time, after 2002 I didn't think it would be possible but the camaro came back better than ever and I put my name on a waiting list once the concept was revealed

I went to the Carlisle Pa show (G.M. At Carlisle) in 2007 just to see the orange Camaro Concept converable. From that time on I knew I wanted a white SS coupe.

3 steps, but sold by the concept and GM "pulling it off".

1) I was told about it by a friend and looked on the internet -- man it looked good.

2) Went to the car show at the Texas State Fair and was awe struck by the thing. My wife and I ooogled over that concept for 2 hours. We both agreed that if GM could make the production car look like that, and we could afford it, we were getting one.

3) GM pulled it off, and we pulled the trigger on a pre-production order in October 2009.

Been enjoying the heck out of it ever since.

GM is famous for touting its "concept" vehicles at the NAIAS auto show for many years before they hit the street. The Pontiac Solstice and the Camaro both graced an auto show stage for three (I believe) years before they became production vehicles. That being said, I got kind of tired seeing the same SIM concept coupe at the shows. My decision to go with a 5th gen however was cemented at the 2009 Woodward Dream Cruise. Up to that time, I had convinced myself that I wanted a Mustang. I spent considerable time at "Mustang Alley" in Ferndale that August day looking at both the new 2009 and the multitude of vintage 'stangs on display. (Historical note: I owned a number of early Mustangs as daily drivers - never even drove a Camaro in my life). When I left that Ford display and drove north on Woodward I spotted the first Camaro production car I'd ever seen on the road. It was a Rally Yellow 2LT coupe mixed in traffic with all the vintage vehicles and did it ever catch my attention. That night, I went on-line to learn more about it. The more I researched it the more I wanted it. (Joining Camaro5.com and reading the passionate stories also helped!) That was Saturday August 15, 2009. On Monday, Septebmer 14th, a Cyber Gray 2010 1SS was sitting in my garage and I have never looked back. This car stirs my soul like nothing I've owned before. It's a magnet for discussion where ever I park it, and I never get tired of talking about it. I look forward to driving it in this years Cruise and perhaps as I pass "Mustang Alley" I'll do a little burn out for good measure.

I've always loved and owned Camaros so when I saw the pics of the 2006 Concept Car in the auto magazines I was overjoyed! When I got to see it in person at the Chicago Auto Show in February of 2006 I knew I had to have one if and when they would produce the car. A few months later the car was approved for production and then I said to myself I have to have one to compliment my other Camaros. The concept Camaros at the 2007 and 2008 Chicago Auto Shows were just icing on the cake for me.
