They're really about the same weight, the GTO might have a few pounds on it but the Camaro is around 3780 (im goin by LT weight though so...) and id put the manuals against each other since thats the real LS3 Camaro and since they're both 6-speeds at that level, since i dont know if the GTOs had 6-speed auto transmissions, so in the interest of fairness and just comparing the best of both worlds itd be best to do that way, and in that comparison i still gotta give it to the Camaro

GTO is a 4 speed auto. Its very well known for its weak/dead zones where performance is lacking (especially around 35-40mph). The GTO has really wide gaps between gears.

GTO A4 vs Camaro A6 (Redline in each gear)
1st gear GTO (47 mph), Camaro (37 mph)
2nd gear GTO (89 mph), Camaro (64 mph)
3rd gear GTO (143 mph), Camaro (99 mph)
4th gear GTO (205 mph), Camaro (132 mph)
5th gear---------------, Camaro (180 mph)
6th gear---------------, Camaro (227 mph)

Now its a 200lb difference? m6 SS weighs 3849 or 3860 ive seen both numbers. GTO is 3725. You GTO guys are even experts at math I see. that looks like about 125 lbs...hardly worth bragging about. Nice job rounding up. If anything you should say a 100lb difference. It is much closer to that.I am still just amazed we are still arguing about this when the fastest camaro time is faster than the fastest GTO time stock for stock and the GTO has been on the road for 5 years. You have to be an idiot to tell yourself otherwise. 12.6 vs 12.8. Even the power to weight ratio reflects this when looking at both cars weight and power. And you can argue modded situations until you turn blue. CAN WE PLEASE END THIS ...this thread is just going in circles. It really is sad.

My ls2 goes consistant 13.20's-13.10's with a best of 12.82. average mph is 108-109. Only mods are filter and dyno tune. stock otherwise. I beat the auto camaro's pretty bad at the track. The A6 camaro's suffer from a crappy factory tune, they need a dyno tune asap.

I can't remember. I got them a while back when they were posted on a spec sheet.
But they are accurate. I have an A6. 1st gear shifts at 36mph or so. Then
2nd gear upshifts around 63mph at WOT.

Yes, the A6 is geared a lot different than the manual. That's one of the reason the A6 gets up and moves really good.

Yes he told me to call him and he would walk me through it. But I havent had time to work on my car so I havent got around to it yet.
