1) The sales person whom I just spoke gave me a quote for the SS...

$38-$40K :( for a fully loaded SS per the GM manager that comes to the store... guessing poss. a regional?

2) Any one in Ohio i have two dealers who promissed no more than MSRP and are ready to take orders.

3) He said there is talk of a bumble bee production car in limited number but does not have the details @ this time..

4) The some what confusing ordering of packages may be easier than thought.... i want a SS with leather seats and center consule guages but not all the options from the 2SS. He said that what he has seen from other models there should be a model or way to mix/ match so you wont need to get a 2SS for those options... poss dealer/GM option @ the same price?

Hope this helps in some way?
Sounds high, but we just have to wait till GM gives us the #'s. $38k-$40k sounds like high end Camaro, (Z28) guessing, for just look at the GT 500 Shelby.

I do believe it will be competitively priced...and I do believe what fbodfather has said....

however....to say 2SS/RS will be low 30s is VERY! wishful thinking. The fact of the matter is a loaded camaro is hands down above and beyond the interior, exterior, and on a technology "perk" basis than any mustang has...now do I think it will be 40k?...nah, at least I hope not, but I could see high 30s. I mean come on thats a FULLY LOADED camaro, and at the moment our top end vehicle for now. I would see the RS/SS2 flirting with challenger SRT prices, with the base SS1 in the 29K mustang range..

For every one fussing about $37-$40K for a loaded bells and wistles SS. What year do you think this is 2002. People you need to get a clue and realize what year is is going to be when the Cars come out. What the cars are going to be equipped with and all the research that has go into producing them ext, and you should be thankful the car is not going to be sitting in the price range of a Shelby GT500, $47,659.00 Base price. Scott has said the car will not be $40k, but as far as any on knows that statement could be based off the base SS not the one that is loaded per say. What is loaded by the way? the 2SS, 2RSS, 2SS with all the dealer accessories, 2RSS with every thing that will be offered threw GM and GMPP. I would be willing to say and this is going to be base off what i have seen over the years from GM and GMPP. If you were to place every last thing on the Camaro 2SS, RS all GM accessories and GMPP you could effectively hit the mid to high fifty's. I mean if $37-$40K is out of your price range for a Camaro 2RSS then go to the V6LT class or just weight and save your money and get it at a latter time. You dont need to be the first one on your block to have the car.

By the way this statement is not being directed at every one just the ones that continue to complain about the speculation of the price. No one even knows the price yet accept GM so why are you getting all flustered over guesses and speculation from what people are saying there dealers are telling them. When the car price does come out and what I ordered is out of my price range then I will take my own advice and adjust or change the order completely. Complaining and getting angry over things you have no control over does nothing positive for you just causes head aches, stress, gray hair, anger, sadness, bargaining and so fourth.

Visited two local dealers yesterday (Middle TN) and was told THEY were told by their GM Sales Rep it would be $38K - $42K for a top of the line SS.

So there ya go, two more dealers in a different state coming up with the same price. They're being told this by someone that's for sure.
