Get the car! I am in college and live with my parents, they sound just like yours. I do not have to pay rent/food/gas etc. who would pass that up lol. I say you go with IOM, how many orange cars do you see on the road? It looks awesome in person.

I lived at college my first year there, and wasn't particularly fond of it. I decided to commute to school, live at home, picked up a full time job, and all my friends are broke while I'm taking delivery on my 2LT/RS next week. I have a company matched 401(k), and am building work experience so that I can have an easier jump start on my career once I get my degree.

It's all a matter of preference, I feel like I definitely made the right decision by coming home.

That's not too hard, an 80 is like a B-.

I also noticed we both live on Long Island. What highschool did you graduate from/where are you going to college?

In 2000 I chose to stay at home and go to the local university. Not a bad school. But I wasn't "at" school. I was at home. I got a 1992 Pontiac Firebird Formula 350, though. Sweet car! But I don't even have it anymore.

Go away to college if you can. Have a great (and safe) time! There will be many, many more years for cool cars. Maybe you can get a sweet 3rd or 4th generation 5.7L manual for cheap, and fix it up a little.

You can do what i do (18, parents want me to stay home), live at home, have a big room, great food, and a beautiful Camaro, and have those wonderful college experiences...at your friends residence
Honestly, i dont think i would be able to focus living at res. My friend who actually does focus, sometimes gets pissed off because of the constant parties going on. It sounds great until you have an exam that you need to study for.
We party hard, once in a while, but were more focused on actually suceeding in life, and partying hard with fat wallets, even when were 40.

Go off to school- If you can try not to get a job while you're there, and if you plan on pledging a frat don't pledge until after the first year so you can get your studying situation under control.

Congrats, I had a feeling it was Stony Brook you were talking about. I'll be honest, being a black Camaro owner, its rough keeping it clean. Especially with all this snow and salt on the roads now. I heard Arnold Chevy (west babylon) had some cars available if you're shopping around, my salesman there was Chris, he's a good guy.
