Halltech (yellow jacket) or CAI?

Hi guys/Gals,

I'm in the market for a cai and have narrowed it down to the two (Halltech and C.A.I.)
I can get either either system for basically the same price.
Any opinions on which way to go?

I have the L99 A6, stock exhaust. going with an axle back soon as well.

Thanks for your help

Everyone has their favorites. Mine is the Yellowjacket. There are a few recent threads that have a lot of good info about them.

I really love the way the halltech yellow jacket is made. Proven power, & great fit and finish. All of my customers love theirs!

We can get one out to you for $349 shipped! http://www.************.com/hayeja10caca.html

i was in the same position (still am) but think i am leaning with the CAI, simply because it seemed to do well against other systems similar to the halltech. 349 shipped eh... thats a bit better than the CAI price i got. maybe if my order fall through. i know i will be gettin one of them soon.

my car is an A6 like yours I noticed a big bump in performance with the cold air inductions cai. for the money I think this is
the best bang for the buck
, its quality through and through, the things I liked about it:
the whole CAI sealed up tight except forwhere the air comes in thats wide open the top has twist screws so it comes of easy.
ceramic coated pipe and the box is insulated aluminum, IMO it keeps the hot air out the best out the CAIs of this type. I orderd one for my TBSS too. Should be here any day now cant wait. The sound under the hood is insane. Im realy happpy with the cai fit and finish are excellent also
if your local you are welcome to take my car for a spin im in Nassau County

all my vettes run halltech products. That being said I purchased one of each.. CAI for my SS and a Halltech for my Dad's SS. I wanted a sealed unit due to the extre heat here in FL. You can't really go wrong with either. And the hp numbers will be close. I really like the consistent IAT temps with the CAI unit but I have no data on the Halltech so I cannot comment.

I've got a L99 A6 as well and just purchased the CAI last week. It hasn't arrived yet so I can't comment on performance (obviously). I liked the fact that it was a "closed" unit didn't rely on a hood seal. I also like that it's shiny.

Halltech all the way - nobody does more homework on getting it done right than Jim Hall. His customer service is just incredible - look at the other threads in this section - not one person has a bad thing to say. One issue on fitment and Jim offered to send him a new piece.

I agree with this, it's not often you see someone in here answering the questions you ask, and then some. Good luck getting customer support like that with anyone else. I'll be getting the Halltech here soon.
