Enjoy J's Photoshop
These pictures came with a PM (trying to save me face) but I thought you all would enjoy his photoshop attempt to communicate to a medical practitioner like myself.
A photo (or 2) is worth a 1,000 words.

I checked out the CAI thread.. SOOOO what did you get. Seems the CAI Inductions was decent but the fastlane was the best gains that didnt take modifications. Keep in mind I am fine with a tune as it says the fastlahe needs a tune. probably more gains would be shown with a tune. As for shifters. Talk to me at the shop at the end of the month. I am sure you can drive mine and see if you like Hurst... |

If you can wait until the March 28 get together then you can probably try both J's (Hurst) and my (MGW) short throw shifters.
Or, I hope to get mine out this weekend. PM me and perhaps we can meet. Only things is the MGW shifters are stiff until they get some usage and mine has barely been used since installed. |

Plan to get a tune done by cincyspeed some time this spring when I can arrange it. My schedule looks like it will be getting a little lighter over the summer... great for cruise-ins... ![]() Heading off to Georgia to Robins AFB near Macon. Just up the road from Valdosta. I am looking at it as a dry run (even though I am flying) to the Fest. ![]() Here are some pictures from after yesterdays drive. No mirrors on yet. When I get back. Report on brake system upgrade: Well, I took it out and started with a few gentle stops to see how they would react. Seems to be about the same at normal speeds, but the pedal may be a little 'stiffer" as pressed. Then came the seasoning of the brakes (Burnishing). I did 5 stops from 55-60 MPH to about 5 to 10 MPH. Here is where I think I saw the greatest difference. At hard braking, the calipers and hawk pads stopped the car on a dime. On the first stop the rear seat came flying down in the back. There was no delay and the bite that was there seemed less sluggish and more grabbing then I remember the OEM brembo pads to be. At slow speeds last night , less than 5 MPH and with very light pressure on the brakes there is a little squeal, but it seems to be no different than the OEM. Remember I have not put the weights back on.It has been a while since I have gotten to drive the car since it only comes out in nice weather, usually above 40 degrees, but I found myself driving around for 2-3 hours yesterday getting the normal 2-5 admirers at every stop when I would come back out from the store, etc. This never gets old! Bottom line on a 5 thumb scale Performance... Appearance... (I think two piece rotors would have been cooler) Here are some pixs.... Yes the rear are slotted as well, just how the wheel lined up...

BEAUTIFUL!
Well an update for all.. the muffler delete is history today. 400 miles is enough! ![]() Time to get out the note pad for C5F! I am thinking of working from the front. I am going to start with a nice set of 1 7/8" headers. No need to go to 2" as I am not looking to get out of control. I feel the 1 7/8" will be the best for what I am looking for. I will also be getting the cats and the cat delete tube which is a simple bolt in/out so I can the difference in sound. At first, all this will be bolted up to the stock exhaust. Since a cat back system offers little to no gains, only sound, I think i will stick with the stock system. My reasoning is i am trying to keep the car quiet. Headers and a cat back is LOUD! I am thinking with the stock system, headers and no cats the car will be plenty loud with no drone or anything... plus it will save me a grand... Next i will move to the CAI... Still looking. I plan on buying the headers in the fall... fall clearance specials

I have no way to compare though. Only driven the OEM and Hurst... Put it this way, i dont think you will be unhappy either way. The Hurst is a snap to install BUT it does have some noise. If you dont want that, dont get it. I dynamatted the crap out of everything I could and am going to Mobil 1 at the meet which is supposed to help. I just live with it as I LOVE the look and the feel. Its a VERY chrisp shift. How is the MGW D? Any noise at all? Shifts chrisp, like they click into gear? |

I had to buy gas today. Checking my records, the last time I bought gas was 10/26/09 or 131 days ago (over 1/3 of a year) and only traveled 229 miles in that time. Hopefully we won't see any cold, snowy weather for awhile. My lifetime MPG is 19.2 using mileage/gas purchase records (not the DIC). Highest on a tank was 24.3. Lowest on a tank was 15.4 which was the last tank. |
