My Dealership told me they will do Oil changes with Customer Supplied Oil as long as it's out of sealed bottles.....it's a lot cheaper to run to the Local Walmart and buy Mobil 1 than to pay what the Dealership charges ($10 a quart at the place I went).....Not all places do this, but it's worth checking before paying through the nose.

Whether it came with "ordinary" oil or synthetic, drain the ordinary and go for synthetic - I've always used synthetic in all my cars, and had great luck.

That v6 is super easy to change the oil in. It uses a cartridge filter that you change in the engine from the hood. I would switch the synthetic it's worth the money.

Definately go with Mobil 1 - I changed over at 3,000 miles.

I've always changed my own oil... but because of this, I was terrible on keeping the tires rotated because its such a pain without a lift. I think for the new Camaro, I'll take it in for oil changes so they can keep the Pirelli's rotated. I want to make sure they last as long as possible considering how much they cost.

As for going to the dealer... is that neccisary? Any lube shop would be far cheaper. like 30 bucks with a tire rotation?

UM

The rear tires are larger than the front. I'm not sure how they would rotate them. Unless you happen to have the reg tires. I know I am looking at a replacement and not rotations when my tires wear too much.
