When they made the 2005 change, they had to make a permanant platform decision on IRS because it could not be adapted later like they did on the previous generation Fox platform for the Shelby's. The beancounters and the engineers fought for a long time, guess who won?

The 2010 Mustang has been revealed to be a mild refresh that is years too late, and too little for me. No comparison, but to each his own.

I want it all:

1. Corvette

2. Camaro

3. Challenger

4. 370Z

5. Mustang

this is the real 2010 mustang. It looks to much like the 2005, they just changed the front end. the bule color looks good on it. Still get a camaro.

Actually, that isn't accurate. IRS could have been added to the GT500, and Ford seriously considered that feature along with an aluminum block for the 5.4L and a twin screw supercharger. All were scrapped due to costs, but not because of bean counters. For was afraid a 50-55k dollar GT500 would have been pushing the upper end of the ponycar market a bit hard.
