Welcome, Don! Good to have you on board. You'll find all ages here. The sweet RJT Camaro in my garage is driven by a 71 year old.....but, don't let that stop you from buying one!

Welcome Don, You will find the car is want w/ the price just you want and see. Oh, and we have a 68' and does it take forever restoring them? We had our done right after I got the new one home. Now, we cruise w/ both of them together. It's awesome and the heads that we turn.

well it was good and bad.......where do i begin.
lets start with the good:
1. orange! with the orange interior in the leather
2. held the road tight
3. styling is just plain sex.
4. man does it turn heads
5. factory exhaust sounds good'
6. All controls and features seem accessible and comfy

the bad.....
1. 38k for a used SS with 8k miles on it...thats called small town pricing.
2. 20" tires are loud and could hear over the radio..so outside noise i bit much
3. hard to steer, or just not used to 20's on the front of a car
4. car felt ok, i got on it pretty good up to about 80 and it just didnt feel all that impressive...my last two buick t-types pulled harder than this of course there v6's turbos and were both 12:70's cars in the 1/4 mile.
5. did i mention freak'n 38k for a used car....

to give my pocket book a fair shot i am test driving a 6 speed hemi challenger in the morning to compare all the above...i will probably drive an auto to so i will be comparing apples to apples...

bottom line: not totally sold on the camaro's just yet....really want to drive a new one and a 6 speed with no miles....

stay tuned.

Welcome to C5 man! 38K for an 8K mile Camaro is ludicrous man. Check your local lots for something with less miles and costs more to the tune of $32-33K

The Challenger is going to be more money and you are going to get a hugely inferior car compared to the Camaro. It is heavier than a Camaro, handles like a boat, has horrible body roll and looks like nothing new from the 60's. Dodge knows Chevrolet hit a home-run with this car yet they still mark-up the Challenger like the Camaro isn't even in it's marketing class. If the Camaro didn't impress you, prepare to be depressed with the Challenger.

38K for a used 2010 Camaro with 8000 miles on it!

Did you all ever see Used Cars with Kurt Russell? That's too F'ing high! Take down Mr. High Prices!

Seriously though, that's way too high in my opinion. I pre-ordered my 2SS RS IOM with the stripes package and came in under that even after TT&L.

Definitely shop around. Even if you have to drive a little out of the way. You should be able to find a better price for a Brand New One.

And welcome to the site too.

Just my 2 cents, but it sounds like you appreciate great cars and keep them around forever. I had a bit of a sticker shock, but I'm glad I bit the bullet and got at 2SS/RS fully loaded. Started off with an excellent car that I can keep adding to for years.

Drive the SS manual, then tell me you don't want the car. If you can honestly say no, then get the hemi.

Play one dealer against the next on a new one, tell them who ever produces the best price and incentives will get your purchase.
38k on a used one is ridiculous.

question, im reeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaalllly wanting the 2010 SS so im saving now...there is a orange one with black hockey stripes here in town i salivate over daily....but the tag on it is 38k for a used 8k mile car....

when do you see these cars coming down in an affordable middle class pice? like low 20's or so??? how many years will that take or will it be once the 2011's hit??? I know the 03 and 04 cobra's were like that when they first came out now there in the high teens even for nicer ones....

oh and Hi im from Kentucky.....
Time to go shopping, and by shopping I mean looking for the dealer that will work with you to get you the best deal.

I recently purchased a 1LT SW M6 from Stingray Chevrolet in Plant City, FL at the suggestion of my Credit Unions buying services. I got the car at essentially dealer invoice and ordered exactly what I wanted. This dealer is 70 miles away from me (one way) so I gave the dealers closer to me the "opportunity" to match the deal I got from Stingray. Most of them stated up front that they could not "match" their deal and hoped that I would bring the car to them for service. A couple got all "indignant" that I would not buy from the "closest" dealer or that I was actually "shopping" for a better deal.

None of the "Internet Buying Services" were any help at all. All were still chcarging a $2K premium on the LS/LT and a $4K premium (over MSRP) on the SS.
