How did your Camaro Dream come true ?

After hearing in Person about "prima-donna's" Story firsthand I had to make this Post.
It started in 2006 with the unveiling. I absolutely loved the design, details, idea, and if nothing more , Chevrolet's in general.
Living in Chicopee, Mass. at the time, I owned a '99 Monte Carlo and dreamed of having the Muscle car of the future.
At the time i was commuting 6hrs to Maine to spend time with my then girlfriend and vise versa. (She owned an Impala) . After about a year of that I ventured to say thats enuff, I made a bold move and left a great job to move to Maine and be closer to her and her son.
3 months prior I posted a resume on Monster just for Shts and giggles to see what was out there. I was living in a 2 bedroom condo , no job, 4 people, little money in the bank and no hopes of ever getting a job that was ( excuse the arrogance I may display ) worthy of my abilities and skill.
5 days prior to starting a job at $13 dollars an hour to have a paycheck coming in, I get a call from a Head Hunter via Monster posting .
He had 4 positions I would qualify for , 1 in Colorado, 2 in NY, 1 in Florida.
I chose Ny because it was driveable. I visit the company, view some of their work, clients, ( Movie stars, music, VERY WEALTHY ) NYC residents.
I loved the idea of having my works of art placed in the biggest city on the planet. But I was a skeptic about the pay, moving, basicly being alone in a new state. I was almost at my breaking point.
Ring Ring Ring..... Its the owner of the company I went to in Long Island City. He wants me to relocate, and work for his company. Offers me moving expenses, and a great opportunity to enhance my skills. To boot if after a year I am in good standing with the company, the money doesn't have to be repaid. I couldn't say no. I took the offer, moved, girlfriend , son and all to Long Island.
Worked in excellent standing thru today and still dreamed of the camaro in my driveway, but never quite having the guts to venture out and do the deed.
Having met my current g/f on Long Island after the move was too much to handle for the prior's son and herself. virtually a year after they left, I found myself with a wonderful woman (Current g/f Monica). 5 months after meeting her, we decided to purchase a house.
Big step 1 , both of us were inseparable for the entire time up to this point.
One evening at my apartment, prior to moving to the house, she gets a gander of the Camaro concept and melted. She said "Thats gonna be our next car". The eternal skeptic I am I say , "I wouldn't know what to do if that happened" ( screaming like a little schoolgirl at a Justin Beeber concert ) maybe.
Well , weeks went by, the move into the house went thru, driveway expanded, Holidays passed, dream still flourishing.
Fast forward to November 2009. Thanksgiving day. Browsing the net and drooling over the 2 Transformers movies constantly. I say Lets go snoop at the camaro's. Next thing you know I am the proud owner of a 2010 SS. The dream is realized. (Thank you Monica) Without you I would be driving my silverado Dreaming ever so much about the Finest creation since 2002.
Footnote: When we moved into the house our accounts for cable etc. All screenames were 2010camaro based. ( 2 years Prior to this purchase)
Living the dream and going after them is the most priceless thing you could possibly do in life. Dream big , Go big, they do come true.

In closing, I appologize for it being so long winded, But Thanks to Donna, I had to at least start a new thread about this and see where it brings others to in their Camaro Dream.
Thank you , and God Bless Camaro5 members, all of our Soldiers, and most of all my family in Maine, Cali, Oregon, and my Extended family here in NY both thru my g/f and Thru NY5THGEN / Camaro5. I love everything about this car, country , and the people with Big dreams that achieve them.
Cudos to the designers, builders, those that think outside the box. The camaro is a success even if in my eyes alone.

Nice story, congrats!

When my son started college almost 4 years ago I gave up everything, ZR-1, Prowler and my Harley. He's about to graduate so I just ordered my Camaro last week.

I bought a brand new Z/28 when I was 18 in 1994. Got married in 1996, had my first daughter in 1999. Car was unsafe in Utah winters for kids. Traded it in for a white Chevrolet Venture Mini-Van. Wife promised me I'd have another Camaro some day. Then in 2002 when they stopped making them, I settled for a 2002 Monte Carlo SS. Then in 2006 when they unveiled the concept............. The rest is history!

Bought a 2010 Mustang GT (number 7 of my mustang lineage), saw the press release for the 412hp 5.0L coming for 2011, got pissed. A couple months later, went to dealer willing to pay retail for the stang, drove off in 2010 Camaro 2SS.

I am 39 years old and was always the guy with the sencible car while all the friends had the sports cars. I refused to look at them because I thought there was no way I could afford. I already made up my mind that if I got one it would be the big dog, 2SS, V8, M6 and I assumed it would be out of my range. I had a camaro before but I had to get the V6 and it didn't have the power the new one's have. I am not knocking any other model. I think they are all beutiful but anything but the above and I would feel I was settleing.

Brother lives by a dealership and on weekends we would pass and wife would say "what coler do you like?" and "I like the way the red ones look." but I wasn't being pulled into researching and reading about them and wanting one so bad but not being able to pull the trigger.

Then one day the wife says "Lets at least go take a look at them" so we did. That was Friday. We test drove a VR 2SS M6. On the way home she said "Your trucks paid off I think we could swing it" I signed papers on Monday.

My Wife is Awsome!! I Love My Car!!

I am 18 years old and everyone in my family has always bought a chevy silverado and lifted it and they're all bad a$$ but im a little bit different and didnt think i needed a truck right now so i went with the camaro.

I got enough money because my grandpa owns a local ace hardware and i was able to work there at a young age. When i turned 16 i started working for him full time. This job wasnt easy for me because i didnt get paid as much as regular employees and everyone expected alot more out of me then other employees. I worked hard for him and like a 50 cent raise every year.

I am also involved with the FFA and raised 3 pigs by myself which i was able to sell for about $3500 each. I finally got $25,000 and my parents helped me to buy this car which hasn't arrived yet.

I am lucky to be blessed with a wonderful and supportive family.
