Honestly, leave Lambo doors- to the Lambos. Not a fan, but that's just me

I am excited as hell to put them on.
I think they look amazing on the Camaro. I have to agree not all cars can carry this off but the Camaro seems to do it perfectly.

The hinges are expensive so make sure its what you want and DONT cheap oout on sub standard hinges, they are going on your baby!!

yesterday I did all my mods that I posted here

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...highlight=mods

EDIT: apart from lambo doors and the CAI
Matrix; Nice you went with Vertical doors, their one of my sponsors for all my vehicles. And your right about "don't cheap out on sub hinges" I have never had a problem with Vertical Doors & heard to many bad stories with owners that went with another product. On a side note, red camaro in this thread looks sharp with doors & ground kit.

Hmmmm I would have to see them up close. I remember that the lambos doors went up like that due to the fact the car was so wide it was a necessity to get the owner in and out of the car in an average parking space. From what I read Lamborghini was actually amazed how well people accepted them and it was all history from there. I do like the fact that spys doors open both ways so that's the only way I could do it. So my verdict. Show car yes. Average Joe who doesnt upkeep his car and looks like crap when you see it.... No.

Yeah, I swallowed hard before opening my wallet but then knew it was the right thing to do. Imagine the hinges breaking off cos I went cheap, its just not worth it cos the repair cost would ... you get the idea!!

The ones I got allow the doors to be used as normal OR open vertically if the mood takes you.

Out of all the suppliers I really liked Vertical Doors Inc, they just seem to have their #$#% together and their products are becoming legendary. Just my opinion. I hope after installing I feel the same way lol!!

EDIT: And the red Camaro your talking about looks WICKED SICK!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your dont need to drill any holes at all. The kit I got is a bolt on type which replaces the existing hinges.

Thing didn't even have plates yet! When your doors are over 200 lbs, don't skimp on strong hinges.

The poor kid in that video....he's probably gonna be a super car junkie now

Sure, it starts with just moderate use...but then you gotta go faster...and then faster isn't fast enough...and then the interventions start...they tell you things like "you have enough cars already" and "they already go too fast".....

Are there any other bolt-on Camaro door kits that are not the ones from verticaldoors.com? They seem to be the only ones I can find and I'm hoping for the possibility of finding a bolt-on kit that just opens upward and can do so without my doing it. (struts have enough power to open the door upward when it is unlatched).

I still don't know if I would do it to my car, but I like to look at options.

Not sure what you mean exactly by "without me doing it".
The lambo doors have to come out a bit to pass the locking latch otherwise it will not go up, just a saftey feature of the door.

Do you mean by remote control, there are kits out there (not sure for the Camaro) but you are going to pay a heavy premium for it.

I'm looking for the door to come out just enough to clear the car and then ONLY go up. With the kit from verticaldoors.com, you need to help it up and it will just stay at exactly the point you lift it to.

Even though I know it isn't the same, the best example I can think of is the gull-wing door on the Delorean. After you unlatch it, the door's struts will raise it up automatically. I hope there is a kit somewhere that can do this ((push out and up automatically) or just up automatically when I push it out a bit).

You can get higher powered gas filled cylinders that will do the job for you.
If it goes up automatically, dont forget, you are going to fight with it to come down and close. Dont forget you're fighting gas filled hydraulics here.

Also, the vertdoors ones are balanced so the weight of the door feels like a feather, which is what you want, you dont want to fight to pull it down, cos then you will look like a tool lol.

Lambo doors?

Hey guys sorry im new to this forum and i hope im posting this in the right location but i just purchased my 2010 chevy camaro ls and i was trying to think of some ideas to modify it a little bit. When of my friends had stated to maybe get lambo doors and i thought that might be an interesting idea. So my question is how much would that run me and does anyone have any nice pics that i could take a look at. Thanks! PS. also im not really a big car person so any other suggestions on any other modifications would be great!
