The 1/2 mile is a more accurate gauge.

I've never said the Challengers were slow, but I do say they are no match for a Camaro SS unless the Camaro needs a driver mod.

I think it's because it's been produced without a break since 1964. No other muscle/pony car has done that.

Most s197 owners don't. Not sure about 5th Gen Camaro guys. But I've noticed the intake/tune doesn't really make much a difference in either V8 Challenger model like it does with the Camaros and Mustangs.

Getting an extra 20+ rwhp in a tuned s197 is common.

Don't benchrace with magzines. Same motor trend you used as a backup source, had a GT500 only beating an SS by .2 of a second. Everyone knows thats far from the truth SS stands no chance against a GT500. And what about all the Mags that show the camaro handling better then the chally and mustang GT or what about the lap times which show the SS beating Nismo's and such and up there with a M3. See you use one mag to make your point which doesn't mean you are right, truth or the matter is the camaro is favorited in everything over the SRT8.

Back on topic thats a nice Chally his wife his picked up and there driveway looks great, way to go Legend and no dont think I'm a chevy fanboy or something like that. Seems how I own a 300 and BMW M6 I'm not loyal to any brand unlike you. And by the way the chally feels just as heavy as my 300 might have something to do with them being the same platform.

Most R/T owners see an increase of about 12-15 RWHP with a intake and canned Diablo tune. A full custom tune from DCX depot usually sees a gain of closer to 20 with an intake and tune.

SRT's dont see as much due to their system already being better breathing and more finely tuned than the R/T.

The auto challengers get quite a boost, most of it is in improved shifting though. The 5 speed auto is a good transmission, it's just got very sucky tuning from the factory. I can't wait to get my 1 5.0 GT next year, 99% chance that is what I'll through, probably a base model with 3.73s and probably the Brembo brake package

shouldnt use mags for truth, you are right, but where are the camaros favored over the challenger? in mags, same ideology applies to that.
And yes the chally should feel about as heavy as a 300 since it is on the same platform such as the camaro feels about as heavy as a g8. ive driven both cars and the challenger and camaro are very similar in the heavy feel department, but the camaro feels a bit better in turns.


and i dunno about stew but I am unbias as can be, I just like the look of the challenger more than the other 2.

truth,

the srt is pretty much set from factory

rt wakes up with a tune, feels more aggressive.

the classic rims that come with the RT are really nice, and have that old school look.
