How many of those $20k vehicles will have 400+ HP and do the 1320 in 13 or less?

That'd be zero.

There is a reason you bought this car and not one of those.
Yea, but how many 2010 V8 Camaros cost $20k too? Things always get traded off to meet a price range. That's just how it is. GM put more money towards powertrain than creature comforts, and that's not neccessarily a bad thing.

Hmmm, maybe one could insert about 30 lbs. of clay in each door to get that real nice "Thunk!"

Nah, then we would end up in a spiral about the weight thing again!

Weld them shut and crawl threw the window. Then you won't have to hear them.

Start with a car built with high quality materials and make it fast. Now it cost more, I'm fine with that, but to make it faster and remove many of the quality materials isn't right.

Lets face it, I bought the car knowing the build quality. It's not terrible and the materials aren't terrible, but they could (and should) have been better. I feel it is ok to point out problems and or deficiencies of something we love. Everything can be improved on.

Nitpicking old ladies. Then if they added another 30lbs for a higher quailty dash pad and door panels with sound deadener you girls would bitch about how much the car weighs for the price of it, or how the stock engine cover looks cheap or about the lack of back floor mats ect ect. WTF do you really expect for the price your paying with the performance you get?

Its effing ridiculous.

I remember there was one thread where a guy complained that the ebrake handle felt cheap. LOL wtf is wrong with you people. Its a modern day muscle car, not a lambo or a mercedes. You get an excellet powertrain and performance with killer looks at the sacrafice of an average fit and finish interior. ( a good looking one I might add)

Yup. And that's exactly my point.

Nothing wrong with feedback, likes and dislikes. I wanted a pushbutton start and 6 way power passenger seat. But let's face it. For EVERY additional item or cost of material, will come an additional cost to us. GM put their money, and as such we put our money, into performance of speed and power.

I just have to yeild to the experts. They say that R&D, even for materials and padding, to make a door seal shut with no ambient rattle, is gonna be expensive, and they have to pass the cost on to us.

And after all, GM wants to profit on the car as well as they can, and need to. I here Mustang guy talk about how the Stang has better materials in it. Well, it comes at a loftier price too. AND has the Camaro beating it in acceleration. It's all relative I think. And you mentioned can be improved on. I think they will. But they did very well for a car that was put into production in near record time with a demand like maybe no other car ever.

I agree with the op. The doors 'Sound' cheap. But they are definately NOT cheap.

Push button start is gay. Sorry had to get that out there.

As for the doors sounding cheap ....yeah I guess they do, and knowing Gm Im pretty sure they are cheap. But they look good. I would rather have my door yell "Im a retard" when I close it than be forced to close the door on some economy car or eurotrash box just to have a solid thud.

Never had it huh?

I didn't think it was all that either till I got used to it. To never have to touch your key is awesome.
