What are you guys using the gas cap hook for? Are you trying to hook the actual gas cap on the hook? If so you are the problem not the hook. The hook is to hold the tether string not the actual gas cap. I use the hook all the time and it has never come loose.

There are features in every car that some people use and some don't. I have a
2SS/RS and I don't find anything useless. I do think the skip shift is the most annoying feature no question.

I am really curious about the fuel fill hook and what you guys that think it is useless are using it for. It's for the TETHER not for the cap.

Every time I try to hook the tether to that thing it just falls right out. It seems like the hook is too small.

I use it to avoid speeding tickets. I can't seem to drive below 95mph without it.

I read this thread completely. We have the most amazing cars to come out in a long time. And people still have to find something to bitch about. I will admit at first I started to find fault. But, the only thing really I can complain about is the orange peel in the paint. Though I am coming to terms with the fact that pretty much all cars have this. I still love my car. I thought about all the minor things folks have complained about. Then I thought about how I felt about each of them. It occured to me how trivial they really are.

Sun visor - The sun visor works fine. If it were any larger you couldn't see anything. Check your seat adjustment.

Cup holders - OK, yes they are in the wrong spot but, where else would they have put them. Learn to work with it. I have.

Gas cap string - Just lay the string over the gas nozzle as you pump gas. easy solution. Lost no sleep over this one.

Back seat - It doesn't get much use but, it would seem empty if it were not here. Camaro is a 2+2. Always has been. Tradition maybe. Doesn't bother me.

Traction control - Really? I'll be looking for the wrecked Camaro thread soon.

Fog lights on the RS - Should have saved you money. Since there are no cornering lamps the fog lights save my rims at night. You need that light down low when turning sharp in the dark.

L99 lifter tick. - All engines make some kind of valve train noise. Again didn't loose much sleep on this one. I know when I hear a problem in an engines valvetrain. Built enough of them.

Engine heater - Not really useless. Should get that repaired, it may save you engine someday.

Door lock located in the center of the dash - I tried to think. "why did the engineers put it that there?" Seems easy to me. Look at the back edge of the door glass. Notice how you could slip a coat hanger or other item in there. If it were on the door you could push the door lock button with that item and get in. It looks like it would be harder to get to it in the middle of the dash. Theft detterrent.

Steering wheel controls - Before getting the car I thought this was something I would never use. I forget its there but, when I remember to use it. It gets used.

AFM - If this is that "useless" to you. Perhaps you should have gotten a manual. There more fun anyways. Just my $.02

Side gills - Its part of the cars looks no need for them to have a function.

Mail slot - Again its part of the cars looks. Though it would be cool if it functioned.

Heated mirrors - This is one of those items that its usefullness will show itself in time. Haven't driven in cold enough weather for them to come on.

Skip shift - Yes its annoying but, it has its purpose. It helps keep the Camaro afordable. I mostly beat it out when in slow traffic. Its funny though when i get into 2nd smoothly and the 1-4 indicator comes on. But, I'm in 2nd already.

Ice warning - Another feature that will show its usefullness in time. However I'm pretty mush aware of the tempature when I get in to drive.

Seat belt loops - If they weren't there I would find the seat belts to be troublesome. Very useful feature.

Rev limiter - You have got to be crazy if you find this useless. Its designed to save your investment.

Cruise control - The folks who complained on this one must have tired right feet on longtrips.

This thread - On a site that is dedicated to Camaro. I can't understand why some would start a thread complaing about Camaro. Thats what I find useless.

IMO. The navigation, I haven't even considered trying it. After having 3 Acura's with large touchscreen Nav systems, I don't even care to try this one. Also the Blu-tooth. My Acura KICKED @$$ big time when it comes to these items. But I DON'T care. I DON'T take trips, and DON'T get or make calls from my car.

This thread is like marrying a supermodel and complaining that she's a lousy cook.

I like the side gills, yes it is useless but looks kinda cool. My vote goes to either the cupholder location or sun visor.
