I wonder if this guy realizes that the starting price for a 2009 challenger R/T is $30,990 and the camaro 1SS starts at $30,995 so are we going to really argue about a 5 dollar difference??? And I think we all know which of the two cars will be faster.

Here was my thought process on v6 vs. v8. It wasnt the cylinders, but the horsepower. The v6 has over 300 horse, and thats at least what the 60's Z28 had if I remember correctly.
At the pump it will take regular, get better gas mileage, and probably be less to insure. What adjustment I will make, is to the exhaust note. After that I will be plenty fast, and sounding good

Outside the Camaro world there are people who feel it is priced too high. It's not cheap, let's face it.
The Ford engineers went through a giant battle in'05 with their beancounters regarding independant rear suspension. The beancounters won. Solid rear axle is too retro for me, and most people. So think of the Camaro as getting a modern design, that is also fresh, and comes with an interior with some style. IRS would cost you more than $2000 in the Mustang, if they offered it. The restyled 2010 Mustang is just that...The same thing re-styled. Not my first car choice, but on my list. I like everything fun to drive. I was all set for Camaro official pricing...Think Pontiac G8 GT and G8 GXP, the Camaro are sister and brother in more ways than one. And BTW, we welcome Mustang owners here, GM wants and needs to earn your business.

So a 300hp V6 isn't "balls to the wall power" but a 300hp mustang V8 for $3K more is? |

the horse power may be the same...but ur gonna tell me that off the line at lets say englishtown, nj the v6 camaro will beat the mustang gt not in a million passes my friends...second ive done my research the 1ss barely has any options so yeah its a good deal if u wnt a strip down v8...the challenger r/t has plenty of options that wont make u feel left out if u didnt get an srt/8...but like ive said everyone has there own opinion...years ago if u ordered a v6 camaro u were prob a blonde chic frm long island...haha

+1000000000000000 My thoughts exactly. Make a lot of the "standard" equipment optional and offer a lower base price to attract more customers. I'm afraid with this pricing I just don't see GM reaching their six-figure sale goals.
