okay i would not advise learning on a brand new car i would see if you know somebody that has an old car that you can learn on and if you like it then get it manual or just go rent or test drive a manual i got mine manual its a V6 but i still have a lot of fun driveing it. Good luck

if you want a stick get a stick, you can learn this in about 5 minutes, it's not difficult. Maybe borrow one from a friend before you pick up the camaro, find an empty parking lot and you will pick it up in a couple of minutes. I learned to drive a column shift pick up truck when I was 12, if a kid can do it then so can you.

I've got one of each ... I will admit it's the first time I've driven a standard in 30 years. The ones I've driven mostly in the past were trucks. This beast took some getting use to, as far as the clutch feel goes. I'm not saying it can't be done, but it won't be the easiest car to learn a standard on ...

Would it be wise to get a manual 1SS and use that right off the bat, or just get the auto transmission? I currently have an automatic '07 Mustang, and had alot of fun in it, but got sick of everyone saying "oh its automatic"

Is it tough to learn manual? I know the basics of it, never applied it though lol.
Get the manual.

I never knew how to drive one before but knew the basics behind how it worked.

Plus you will never have the dissapointed response after the 'Is it a v8' question =p

Most days its 5-10 and I grab second. On other occasions, its 35-45 before I get second.

Manual = More fun to drive, and IMO makes you a better driver. But thats my .02

Automatic is boring. Push the gas pedal down and go...

Get a manual and get connected with all 426 horses! Stick is way more fun.

My old 350z was manual, it was fun , for a while...then it got to be old, and tedious. I'd rather sit back and relax, enjoy the ride, but to each his own..Besides, with the auto, you still have 'paddle-shift' to satisfy the occasional "manual" desire.....

this debate can go on forever but if u want the most fun while driving nothing beats a manual 6-speed in a muscle car. I just test drove my 1st 2-SS Camaro and its a beast bone stock. the 6 speed is so smooth and feels more quality then my 02 35th SS Camaro MN6. The LS3 is a badass motor hands down

In my country 95% of population drives manual. Some guys says that driving auto is for woman/gay (no offence). I'm driving manual for 6 years and just for comfort my next car will be Camaro with automatic transmission.
I think if you didn't drive manual before that's the best time to try it (if you want to be a real man )

I've had just as many stick cars as automatics...certainly on a sports car gotta love the stick, but have to admit there are a few times it would be nice to have it auto, but overall for the Camaro, Im real glad it's a stick...both are just as fun so you cant go wrong.
