Whether they are or not isn't the point I was reiterating, of course the car itself isn't an embodiment of who owns it, but the 3rd Gens are widely looked/joked about as that "the white trash car". When I owned mine, my friends and I always joked about it, etc.

Greg, you can't see 5 feet in front of you. You must have Camaro-braile.

There isn't much that can rust on a 4th-gen versus a 3rd or 2nd-gen anyway.
The rear quarters, rockers, hood... I'm seeing quite a few with gaping holes between the rear wheel & the door.

Buy the motor only at Advance, they come with a lifetime warranty. They only cost 40 bucks. Also the reason they go bad is because GM only sends about 10 volts to the drivers side switch then splits that voltage to the passenger side switch. When you run both at once you are splitting voltage and running a 12 volt motor on 5-6 volts causing them to burn up. Don't run both at once.
Interesting on the voltage theory which somewhat makes sense, I had also hear lubrication was poor in the factory...& the motor was undersized for the window.

Only 30 minutes?? including drilling out the old motor rivets?.. think mine took about 4-5 hours & a cut up arm.

Most are lifetime, & some have a short life ... I picked up a lifetime made by Siemens (brand new) (Autozone) for a Lumina, didn't even make it a year... replaced it with a reconditioned (lifetime) from Murrays/ORielies 3 years & going..gave the new owner the warranty info.

I don't know about you guys that have the 4th gens, but my 01 Hawk and 02 Berger still feel and look like new to me, they both have low milage on them. Its all in the way you keep your cars up. Maybe some day I can add the new camaro to my small fleet!

[QUOTE=K-A;1595126]I agree about the 4th gens, low respect level, mostly due to the fact that it's known as the quintessential "white trash" cars. However yours looks sweet, I like it even better than the new Camaro in that pic!

I've owned both a 3rd gen ('82 Berlinetta) and two 4th gens, and I always thought of the third generations as the "trailer trash" Camaros. A mullet comes to mind more with the 3rd than the 4th gens.

Just hard to find any here that's not been beat on or modded to death most of it's existance and put back to stock to try and sell. I owned three 2nd gen TAs, 2 3rd Gen Formulas, and a 4th Gen TA, regret ever selling any of them now...

True, though you being in Florida would have a great advantage there.... I can only drive mine 4-6 months..... mine still looks great, except for the spot that it was hit back in 2002 (parking lot hit skip), never did bother to get it fixed.

This car (The F Bodies) seem to attract owners that abuse them.... what a shame.

Yeah I confused 'em, I was definitely meaning the 3rd Gen is the quintessential trailer trash car, lol.

I love when a certain car example is so nice, that it makes me second guess the opinion I've had of them as a whole for so long, this is one of those times. Just wicked.
