excessive paint chipping

i dont know if its happening to anyone else but the paint on my camaro is chipping like crazy. i dont drive on crappy roads or anything like that but it still chips. just wondering if this is happening to anyone else and if anyone has any ideas on how to get it fixed without repainting the car with money out of my pocket. i dont think gm warranties the paint though

It's not crappy paint. This water based (I believe) paint is standard these days. More environmentally friendly

We're just noticing it more than other cars because the front tires chuck rocks at the wide hips. My tacoma has done it for years. Dealer won't do shit I bet ya.

Evironmentally friendly or not...it is crappy paint. I understand their want or need to use this paint for the environment...but the point is, the paint is crap. I had my Toyota for 10 years, and not a single chip appeared until after the first year and a half I had it. I had a chip on the hood of my Camaro when I got home from picking it up from the dealer!!! 30 miles on the car, and I had a chip already! I'm sorry but no one is gonna convince me that this paint isn't crap. I love the car, but I hate the paint job...it's really my only complaint on this car so far.

This is why I opted for splash guards.

Wouldn't have mattered what kind of paint was on the car, my entire front end and my gills were getting a clear bra no matter what.

I'd rather spend $750 now than a few thousand to repaint the bumper in a few years....and I don't care what paint is on the front of a sports car, in a few years the whole bumper will be chipped.

has anyone put the clear bra on the gills yet? seems like the only way to keep them "perfect" looking.

How noticeable is the clear bra on black? Can you take some pictures?

My wife don't even have 50 miles on her new ss and already has a stone chip in front of the passengers side rear wheel. She bought some splash guards from the dealer ($160.00 ) I installed them last evening. Does anyone know how well they work?
