Silly Dealer....

So, i just hit 1600 miles on my 2010 Camaro v6, and so i was past the breakin period, and wanted to change the oil. So...from reading the book and on the site, i believe i understand that the v6 comes with regular oil, not synthetic. I want the best in my car, so i had already bought 6 Quarts of Mobil 1 and a Wix filter. So i go into the dealer this evening, and i dunno if they just wanted to mess with it, or they are dumb. First, they say, you know you only have 16?? miles on your car, right? I SAY..yes, its just past the break in period, which they reply...There's no breakin period with these cars....I SAY..thats not what the book says....Then they said that they come from the factory with Synthetic..I SAY...Not from what ive read, the SS does, the v6 does not..So i left, and i'll take my money elsewhere, or do it myself sometime, if i have the time. I had called and was told I could bring my own oil, and they have the price of how much they would charge to change everything for me. I dunno, since it was so late in the day, they didnt want to mess with it, or didnt like the fact, i brought my own oil, and i wasnt going to pay there 75 buck oil change fee, or what..who knows. I got tired of argueing with them.

One thing about bringing your own is YOU know what is in the car. Often when I ask for my brand they say they don't have it. What comes out of that red hose?

I bring my car to the local jiffy shop with my oil and filter. $6.xx out the door. For that price its worth it not to have to jack up my car, drain the oil, put the oil in a container and drop off at another place.

If I had a lift maybe, but I really hate crawling under cars. I would rather sit and play nazi zombies on my iphone while someone does it.

Sounds like your car needs a dermatologist...not an oil change. So who's the silly one now?

you changed that oil way too quick man. Not even necessary, waste of money. Sorry.
