I rented a 2008 400hp ZHZ Vette and put 850 miles on it over one week, it was fun for the first 100 miles then the reality sets in that it is noisy, rough and cramped inside... no me gusta! I have 3800 miles of comfortable, fast and fun miles in my 2SS/RS!!

I looked at Vettes for a long time (and test drove a few) while waiting for my Caddy lease to end. I was the the dealer looking at Vettes when I bought the Camaro.

With no offense to Vette owners (I would love to have a GS Convertible) here are my reasons:

- Same engine
- $30,000 less
- Four seats
- Much quieter than the Vette
- Easier egress
- Better looking (subjective)
- Much rarer in LA (at least for now)
- For how/where I drive, handles better than I need - no intention of tracking the car
- Better looking interior (subjective)
- For how/where I drive, faster than I need (90 mph in 3rd gear! - my God!)
- It was there, available, in my color (Inferno Orange - matches my Harley), loaded with all the goodies I wanted and a few I didn't know I wanted (timing is everything)
- The dealer knocked $3,700 of the MSRP
- Vettes owners suffer from a certain stereotype - and I fit it - middle-aged bald (mostly by choice) white guy (no choice)

DID I MENTION I SAVED $30,000 FROM WHAT I PLANNED TO SPEND ON THE VETTE?!?!?!

What I can't explain is why I didn't look at the Camaro earlier!

Corvette is a completely different car than the Camaro. Backseat notwithstanding, cars with really short wheelbases (and all the drawbacks they bring) get old pretty quick.

Camaro can be a daily driver. Corvette cannot. At least not for me.

What the hell is a ZHZ? Is that some new model Corvettte? A base Corvette puts out 430 H.P.

You act like Corvettes are the arch enemy of the Camaro. I have each one in my garage and they get along fine with each other and they look marvolous together!

I could have bought a corvette for the price I paid for my camaro with extras. I prefer having a 3 seater over a 2 seater, as well as more trunk space. Also the cockpit fits me better. The C6 vette's center console rubs my shin as I rest my leg on it when driving because there's not enough room to scoot the seat back.

Plus I like the styling of the camaro better. Had I been able to get the Stingray concept, I would have taken that in a flash though.

ZHZ is a special edition made for Hertz. They buy a corvette and give it the black strip signifying Hertz and then rent it out. It's a base corvette with the optional dual-mode exhaust is all.

Camaro=Performance Coupe/Muscle Car

Corvette= Sports car/ Supercar (in the case of the ZR1)

Different realms of reality, both awesome IMO.
