I had a C5 Vette with the A/T before I got my M6 Camaro. I asked on a Corvette forum how to get rid of the slight delay in acceleration when punching the gas to pass someone. The most resonses were "Get a manual tranny".

Don't know if the Camaro has the same slight delay in the auto but I do know M6 does not!

I test drove both and was blown away by the manual. the auto felt sluggish to me, though I didn't really like the way the manual shifter felt and it did the skip shift thing once.

Chris! You see what you started? Just kidding with you. I feel that you’re better off with the automatic. It has a tap shift button that goes on manual and it’s fun. But I think manuals are best.

both are totally awesome and both have tons more power and torque than anyone could ever use on the street. Buy whatever you are more comfortable with. Manuals get old real quick in heavy traffic everyday and either one will slam your *ss back in the seat. These cars are great

When spending this kind of money, what is a short drive to find out what you really want. The hunt is (almost) as good as the kill.

I have an Olds 442 big block that I swapped from a 4 speed to an automatic because it's for shows and crusing the city streets, but bought a M6 Camaro. That's for driving the snot out of it!

I enjoy the involvement of a MT more than performance concerns honestly. I think a MT MAKES you pay more attention, and I think that constant involvement makes you a better driver, more in tune with your car, etc. etc.

And, honestly, just going through the motion is enough for me. Love MT's.

If you CAN drive stick but don't want to, one thing. If you can't drive stick and act like theres no point. Thats another.
