Insurance is one of the main reasons why I didn't order my SS on the 13th. In this city, at my age, I won't be surprised if I see quotes over $500. The good news is, I'll be 25 next November. I'm going to order the car next summer and deal with the payments for a couple of months. Hopefully, when I renew my policy 6 months later and I'm 25, the price will drop.

That's insane.
I just went on Geico's website to get an idea of what the SS will cost me for insurance. I used the Challenger SRT8 for the example. I assumed that would be slightly higher than the SS, but who knows. It came to $109 a month. Not bad at all. And my insurance company has always been cheaper than Geico. So I may only be looking at $100 or less a month. |

I think it depends a lot where you live, as well as the age thing. I've been driving Camaros since I was 16 (29 now), and I now pay less (under $600 per year) for my 2002 V8, living in SC, than my V6 when I was 20 in PA.

Oh wow, some of you are paying more than I hope to pay for my car payment. If I ever saw that my insurance bill was 400 dollars, I would drop that company in a heartbeat.
Although, I live in a redneck town in a redneck state with a bunch of old people thrown in...so I'd imagine we get pretty decent rates compared to some ![]() |

I hope people aren't going to be using companys like Geico for their Camaro insurance. I rather pay more monthly to know if something happens i don't have to piss around trying to get things done.

You never know... I consider myself a great driver, but I can't count how many times I've been close to an accident because people that either don't pay attention, have poor judgment, or just suck at driving.
And... NEVER EVER EVER let a friend drive your car. I let a friend drive my Camaro. And you can guess what happened... minor to my car, but it happened... |

call your agent and get a quote for a challanger and for a mustang and just estimate that you will be in that range.

its better to talk to a rep. and make sure you are getting exactly what you need. i dont like doing quotes on line.

Some insurance companies also base rates off of your credit score. So if you have dinged up credit then I would shop around to get the best rate. If you have great credit, then I would highly recommend getting a quote from Traveler's Insurance. For me to fully cover my '07 Tahoe LTZ and '06 Civic it costs me about $90/month.
