Price quoted different from what was posted on the forum?
I'm already planning to stray from this dealer, but I'm being told military discount will not be honored, the Manual transmission is an extra $1,185 (but the inferno accent interior is no charge), and they're saying dealer installed for the stripes. I figured if others were getting supplier or employee pricing, military pricing would be definite (on Vettes, I'd heard of people getting military discount before the other two, but don't quote me). Anyways, wanted to know if any of you have seen anything similar.

The manual is standard on the car and is not an additional cost. He's trying to scam you, find another dealer. The Inferno Accent Trim is an additional cost.

Military/supplier/college grad discounts don't have to be honored by dealers; its up to them, not GM. You'll have to do some hunting to find one that will.
Personally, I thought dealers would have enough American pride to honor Military discounts, but I guess everyone has mouths to feed...

i'm willing to bet that if you walked into the dealership in uniform w/ an arm in a sling they would have a VERY hard time say they wouldn't give you military discount

And them tell them of all stress in your life, the only thing youve been looking forward to is a new camaro, it is the only thing that will make you happy. Tell him what it was like "over there" shed a few tears! i bet you will have your discount.

Yeah, the manual transmission is the standard one. The auto is the 1000 dollar option. Maybe he doesn't know what he's talking about. Or maybe he's just trying to scam you. Go back in and be really pushy and tell him that you know what you're talking about. Better yet, print out the sheet in the sticky and tell him to try to argue that.

Frye says "We can join up and use our discount and then drop out again right?" and bender says "You know, play you all for chumps?" and the military guy is like "Yep. Unless war were declared" then there's an alarm Bender and Frye say "What was that?" The military guy says "War were declared" |

hey, that's very true. Being a military person myself, I don't expect these discounts. But when I get paid salary by the government at a not so good pay. Working sometimes 10-12hr shifts, sometimes without a day off, being deployed numerous times. In fact, the last deployment was the hardest and my wife left me. What I'm trying to say is, people give up their lives for this country to protect and serve, and to keep America free for everyone. So everyone that is willing to give up their lives for public service, any public service (i.e. firemen, cops, military, etc) should be honored with a discount. Not just for myself, but I strongly feel that way for every brother and sister I've had the pleasure to serve with.

Get rid of that dealer. He is either lost, misinformed, or trying to make a buck off of you. Either way, it sounds like he isn't the right person for you. Go elsewhere, where people know their product.
Which reminds me, we DO know a LOT more than most dealers out there. |
