I was told the same thing at my shop. They were like is it a V8 i'm like, no its a v6 an they're like wtf. You're an idiot for not getting a v8. Blah blah blah you bought a camaro with a ***** engine in it. and is it an manual. I told them no its auto trans. Then they go you didn't get manual? wtf is wrong with you. I'm like First of all i can't drive a manual, why would i get a brand freakin new car that i can't drive. Possibly **** up the trans, and probably won't make it far from the dealer. That would make me look like a dumb ass for driving a new camaro and stall out every single stop light. Oh did you know that i'm only get paid as A1C not a Ssgt or Tsgt? yeah.... only like you know 2-3k different in paid rate. Geez people give me a break.

my is Idea is to get a new car that i can afford, fun to drive. and this is my first NEW car so i can build up my credits.

I ordered my car with a manual trans, and did not even know how to drive one. I learned in like an hour practicing, on a different car of course. My camaro comes in this week. You should learn how to drive a stick, it is really fun and it should be even more fun in a car like this.

For the weak power it had on the curves, there was no reason why the car couldnt stay on its rails. Going into and coming out of curves, it didnt have the acceleration to get a hard on over it. I was more impressed with its straight line performance rather than its handling capabilities. I'm not ripping on the Z, but dont come here trying to tell me its a "FANTASTIC" machine.

The 370Z doesnt have its official lap times out yet. But when a 2010 camaro SS turned in a best 8:20 and a 350Z has turned in a best 8:26 both as official times @ nurburgring. Not bad for a 2 seater vs a 4 seater i guess

Other than that, the rest of your quote was just about right i guess
You are correct. If it was awesome I would have kept it forever. Warranty expiring, being 5 years old, needing rotors, pads, clutch, TOB, flywheel.

None of these things factored into it. It sucked so I got rid of it.

Drinking the kool aid.

None of this offends me btw, I drove a Z for 5 years and I've never had more fun in a car. Like I said, we had our fun with your kind.

And the fact that a SEVEN YEAR OLD car is only 6 seconds slower with 137hp less, is shameful...lol.

*sigh*

I know, I know, we own Comaros so everything else is dumb. Except maybe vettes and gtos and a couple G8 GT's, but only if they are nice.

Don't worry, before long I will get tired of having this same dumb conversation everyone has on every manufacturers forum and I just wont bother. Bear with me.

And yes, it was fantastic.

btw I like how on the same page you get guys saying 304 is amazing, but 289 (weighing less too) is weak and pathetic. lol

yeah I'm gonna go learn how to drive manual when i go down to my parent house for vacation. My dad have a 4w/drive truck. LOL that would be interesting. My next camaro would be the SS. Gotta eat like a homeless people for the next 5 years. LOL Hopefully by that time they've fix all the delay and junk with the SS. Maybe even get more HP.

I learned on my cousins ford ranger work truck, its pretty slow compared to the SS but I got the shifting down now. What delay? on the SS auto or manual?? When I test drove the auto SS there was a delay with the button shifters, so I am glad I got the manual.

this is the last i will touch on this topic. But 6 seconds is a lot in a track.

i dont know what "your kind" is, but i would assume it applies to whoever doesnt see it your way. *sigh* you have more issues than drinking kool aid if that the case!

No way I would have purchased this car if it was only available with a V-6 and Automatic. It's a Camaro and IMO should only come with a V-8 and Manual tranny.

Like Vettes are for the 50+ yr old crowd, a V-6 is for imports, woman and sissy boys...

IMO

Actually, I would be willing to bet that his statement is very close to being true.

Most cars out there are cars like the Honda Civic and other base sedans. Sports cars make up a very small percentage of the market.

Here in Seattle, my SS is probably faster than 98% (or higher) of the other cars on the road. Probably higher. Seriously, think about this. How many other cars do you actually see per day that are faster than you? 1 out of 20 would mean 95%. I'm pretty damn sure it's less than that. Here in Seattle, in the last 3 months I've probably spotted 25-35 cars that might have given my car a run for the money or been faster outright (mostly Corvettes here). This out of 1000's of cars I go by each day. Then there's all the pick up trucks and SUV's.

And, when it comes to the 6 cylinder, I am pretty sure that the V-6 is faster than 90% (that's 9 out of 10 are slower, not too hard to imagine).
