So, then I guess reverse those numbers somewhat. 15% on the sides, and keep the back at 20%
what I would recommend, take this very lightly, as my honda is my first car i got tinted, I got 20% all around, and it looks HOT. I mean it's dark, but not TOO dark. Visibility wise, it is nice, I was afraid of it being too dark, but it isn't.

I agree, my personal opinion is that 20% is PERFECT. It doesn't SCREAM "pull me over for my tint!!!" but it's plenty dark, and you can still see out at night.

Hell I haven't even disabled the auto dimming mirrors and still haven't had a problem. Don't be dumb about it until you've gotten used to it, but, it really isn't a big deal. My Z was 20% all around, had that for 5 years, never a problem. My SS is 20%, and thats the thing, on a black SS, 20% is PLENTY. It gives you the dark look that is so nice, without causing problems or just begging for a ticket.

And I WONT say anyone with less than 20% doesn't know wtf, but I will say of all the people I personally know, the only ones who went darker than 20% are the kind of people who considered colored tint...i.e. idiots/posers.

But that's a blanket statement you just can't make, so, I'm only talking about MY experience.

35% is surprisingly dark w/ the black interior on this car, that is legal here so that's what I went with for side and rear windows. I am too tall to get the A1 line tinted lol. $120.00 w/ lifetime warranty.

Apparantly it's 25% in Texas but the law is worded "when measured in combination with the original glass, must have a light transmittance value of 25% or more." I wonder if that means that 25% tint is legal? I mean, what is the tint value of the stock glass?

I've been using tint on my cars for so long, I couldn't imagine being without it. IMO tint makes all the difference in the way a car looks. In fact I can remember a time back in the 60's there was a tint in a spray can. You would just spray it on your windshield for example, then trim it with a razor blade to make a brow ...

The local installer says 30% on the door windows and 15% on the rear of the vehicle is the legal limit. Cost is around $164 including a visor strip.

I believe I have read on a different forum that in order to calculate how dark it will be, subtract 7% from the tint you want. As an example to be legal with yours you would have to get 35%. 35-7=28. So it would look like 28%. Because windows already come with a light tint to protect you from the UV rays and such.
