Glad you like the car, but the v-6 camaro is nothing more then a mid 14 second car. Expect to get beat by g35's, wrx's, legacy gt's, ect. Most family cars are gonna put some distance between you and them.

The v-6 Camaro can't "wipe out" a v-8 mustang, not even close.

Great car, love the camaro even the v-6, but don't try to fool yourself into thinking the v-6 camaro is dominant in performance like its big brother is.

I do agree I feel 400+HP for street use is overkill.. but if I make comments like that then I have some people saying you should have bought a prius, which to tell the truth really irks me.. if they wanted an more horsepower they should have bought a ZR-1....
True....my bad
I agree with you on the extra hp tho

The Porsche U.S.A. site says a 911 turbo does 0-60 in 3.6 seconds. I've seen 4.7 quoted many times for 0-60 in the 2SS. That means a 911 T costs an extra $8,986.82 for every tenth of a second in which it "smokes" a Camaro!!!! (base 911 T versus base 2SS).

That was exactly my point, it goes both ways... but if you are going to be putting down those with one or the other for buying what they did then expect to get rebuttals...

So the ancient old powerglide transmission was crap compared to one from 2010...really?

How shocking.
Stating the obvious, but I was more going after a point that back in 67 when the Camaro came out with All sorts of engine and transmission combinations (3 speed manual, 4 speed manual, 2 speed automatic, and 3 speed automatics) you never heard such crap going on between people for buying what they did.. Maybe people back then had more respect for one another then I don't know, but guess what.... we all drive CAMAROS, and they will always be lumped together as Sporty Muscle Cars,
And If you want to talk about being able to outrun a 60"s "Muscle Car" My HHR with it's 2.4 4 cyl could hold it's own and even beat some of them...If you want to talk about 0-60 times, 1/4 mile times are another story....

My replies in red...

The thing is most people didn't buy their V6 Camaro because we wanted to to race anyone, We don't need to be told that this car or that car can beat them.. WE DON"T CARE... We bought it because we love Camaros and the V6 was a more practical choice for us than the SS.. (this is the most V6 buyers case, not all V6 buyers)

Point being don't justify why you brought something by having to compare it to somethine older and different standards and tech back then. HP don't tell the whole story and we all know that.
That is why I said HP #'s per GM not what it really had (BTW 311 RWHP stock for my 01 Z/28 before I did any mods) besides all I compared was GM rated HP #'s I am not justifying why I purchased a V6 over the V8 if you must know my reasoning I wanted a 2010 to fill the gap until the Camaro convertible is ready then I will order my 2SS/RS so she can sit next to my other Show/garage queens and NO I will not trade in the V6 for the V8 she will be with my other Camaros.
