Yea I'm 49 and I got the camaro. Also to the guy bashing us guys that bought the 2ss/rs automatic, I'm sure your six banger is just fine and is really ok with the 304 horses, but I promise you this it fails in comparison to the power of the small block chevy. I've got the muscle car camaro and you got the sports car camaro. Wanna race. didn't think so.

Ok, so you ask me why I didn't get a v8 because it is more powerful, yet you paid more for less horsepower in your car? Makes me think the only reason they got the v8 was to feel more superior than someone who got the v6. That or they are too lazy/afraid to drive stick.
WHY DIDN'T YOU. Lazy nope. Wife yes. More power, absolutely. Better to hear the rumble of the small block chevy V-8 than the six. Hell yeah. I might not be more superior but my car is, wanna racedidn't think so.

Sorry you took offense. If someone is going to give me grief for not getting the v8, they had better have or plan to get the v8 manual. The comment was actually directed at my friend in Florida.

Compare the v8 manual with v8 automatic, I'm sure you'll find the same reason that you would say "Why didn't you get the v8" to someone who has a v6.

I prefer to drive my car, not push the pedal and make it go.
Oh and last I heard, wife's can learn to drive manual. Mine will.

But if you want to know my reasons for getting the v6 manual. I didn't want to have to gas up with premium all the time, better gas mileage, it will be my daily driver, I drive it in the winter, lower insurance, lower maintenance cots (oil changes), I find it more fun to drive, and I don't plan on racing it.

Here is another reason for manual, very few people can drive it. I've read some stories of people trying to carjack people that backed out because it was manual. Oh and if you must know, my wife was carjacked.

Hey... the v6 is no slouch. 305 HP is about the same as a v8 Mustang. I would have considered buying a v8 Camaro with 300+ HP if that was the way it was produced. Couldn't resist when it came with 400+.

Really? Before I get jumped on, I do own a 10' RS SS, it is a fantastic car! But it is driven solely by my wife. I am only 49 years old, have owned 7 vettes, first one at 27 years old. So....you don't have to be 50 to buy a vette or be going through a midlife crisis. Both cars are great but are for 2 different people maybe. The only thing I don't like about the Camaro is at 6'4" my head hits the sunroof unless I recline a lot, I fit much better in the vette.
Happy springtime to all,

I had the Corvette which I loved. If I were to ever buy another it would have to be the Z06. I bought this camaro because Yes I can take the kids with me but I have to say that the lines on this car are amazing. The performance with a few added mods are equall to the C5 that I had.

I've sat (not driven) in a Z06 Vette and it fit me MUCH better!
I have never seen a vette for that price new not even a base. The ones i have seen are more like 55,000. So that would be a great price on one.

I spent only 17K or so to get to 700 hp with my auto at Livernois.....its a beast....this car has done 11 flat in the 1/4. Its a better looking car, its a 4 seater, and its cheaper and faster than either a z06 or zr1...what more can you ask for.

I'm presently putting in more work to bring it to 75-80K total cost.....this car will be around 820 hp (with racing blend). Its going to the track in early April.....estimating around 10.4 give or take a tenth. My car has all the performance upgrades that any vette could dream of....and its cheaper and faster than the top models.

I took it to a parking lot full of vettes..of all kinds....and one thing is clear, my car brings more attention than any vette....vette is cool....yes...camaros cooler.

1-The Camaro fits my personality better
2-It's not as tedious and it still pulls hard
3-It's a thowback to high school. It's been too long since anyone cranked down the windows and cranked up Ted Nugent.
4-I first looked at power:weight ratio, but no car will beat my bikes
5-Then I looked at power:weight:dollar, times the coefficient of personality.

Clear choice for me.
