I'll still take my LS3....... V6s have their place, but in my personal opinion, it's not in a muscle car. No matter how powerful you make it. There's no amount of horsepower in a 4 or 6 cyl. that has ever sounded as good to me as the rumble of a V8. Once again, that's my personal opinion.

Ahhh muscle car.

I bet you removed all but the drivers seat.... all the padding and sound insulation. Probably removed all that heave exhaust. Pulled all non-essentials out for weight of course. Then you have a muscle car.

If not... then your driving a street car. Or does sound make it a muscle car? Maybe muscle car like??

Even if GM does not put this in the Camaro, seems it could be a good crate motor to drop into the v6's... my guess, would only cost a grand or two more then a turbo set up. + no more waiting for someone to come out with a good F/I system for the LT

I dont know the dimensions of the Cruze..I just threw it out there because it's a light car that seriously needs something more than the motor the SS is planned to get.

Just was throwing it out there.

I wouldnt be shocked if this engine was over $13,000. The V6 itself isnt expensive, but twin turbo's is fairly expensive.

So '86-'87 Regal T-Types and GN/GNXs were "economy cars"?

With $1,000 worth of "refining", they'd run mid/low-12s...better than or equal to a "muscle car" L99 with a similar budget...and capable of mid-20s mpg...with 25 year old technology.

The "potential" for a boosted V6, once the BoschBox is cracked, is very promising...with mpg enhancements and an eco-friendly future...but ONLY in RWD/AWD applications, thank you.

GM is finally reacquainting itself with its past, which also means "Eco-Boost" is NOT "new"...

I'd have to see the real numbers first, but i don't think i could say no to a camaro with this.
would they keep the "old" V6 in the LS models? or put the new one in the LS & LT....

They wont put a V6 in a car that would outperform their base V8. If you can get a V6 with better gas efficiency and due to the lighter weight will outrun a L99 SS...why spend the money on a SS?

As long as it's not Z28 I seriously LOVE the look of the Leno Car

If memory serves, not all muscle cars were strippers... Maybe I'm not understanding the statement.

For me, part of it would be placebo. If I'm buying a muscle/sports car, I need the sound of a V8. There are very few V6s that sound good to my ear. That's not to say I wouldn't sport one of these models if they ever come to fruition; I'd just have to have my V8 first

I really do hope they finish this project and get it into Camaro. I'm a staunch supporter of FI because it's so much easier to get power. Some of us have to be sneaky with how we get our power because of smog, so call me selfish, but I support about any and all FI powertrains, lol.

GO GM!!!

I don't equate muscle cars to the sound of the engine, I equate them to torque and power to the wheels. The sound is nice in a V8 no doubt about it, but if I can get a super powered v6 and replace the exhaust system to get a deeper and cleaner sound than stock, i'll be fine.
