The Camaro is as american as it can get besides having it built in the U.S. And, having it built in Canada does not matter to me one bit...besides, Oshawa it a (or the) leading plant in terms of quality. So, no one better complain about that!
Oshawa was awarded the number one quality plant in all of North America! It beat out every Mercedes Benz, BMW, Toyota and Honda plant that call The US and Canada home.

The only caveat here is that in the past, American companies were relying a bit too much on the flag waving to get them business. People can only take so much of poor quality and when something starts to cost them money, they look elsewhere. Trying to get them back after they've had 10 years of happiness with Toyota or Honda is very, very difficult. I truly believe GM is on the right path with the Camaro, G8, Volt, Cruze and Malibu.

Absolutely 100% and visa-versa.

Aside from freindship, our cultures are not that different - we watch the same shows, eat the same food, and most importantly, love the same cars.

Even more to the point of this thread, no two countries trade more between each other. No other country buys more American goods than Canada and no other country buys more Canadian goods than the U.S. :flag2:

X2!

If we share NORAD with Canada, along with many other things I'm sure I know nothing about, I'm sure they're better friends than we admit.

Camaro IS American :flag2:

Totally agree! It doesn't matter what happens, our countries are like conjoined twins. What one does, the other is right behind (for the most part anyway)

Tis true. I know GM failed a lot of people with crappy products from the early 80s up until the mid 00s. I'm not saying every GM vehicle was crap, but they sure let things slide... Until right around 2005 when someone finally seen what was going on, then they finally got their heads on straight.

Haha it's definitely 150% what it was, that's for sure. and LS versus V6, GT versus SS, theoretical Z28 versus GT500? Well, two out of three for sure.

I personally count the Camaro as Canadian, but the question is what is more American. I have to go with the Camaro. Think of all the products made in China. The Microsoft keybord that I am using to write this was made in China. Does that make it Chinese? No because it was (likely) designed in America by Americans with most of the profit going back to Americans.

I am pretty sure the Camaro's DPC will be much more than the accord's.

My rule of thumb is to watch where the profit from the sale goes. If it goes to Detroit, it's an American car. If it gets shipped to Japan, then it obviously isn't an American car, and it's ridiculous of anyone to think that it is.

I always thought that Canada was like the loft apartment above a really great party(US)? lol jk, i always liked that joke tho

As for the cars, its good that americans get jobs @ Honda factories and such - but unfortunately it doesn't stimulate OUR economy as much as it does japan's, much like everyone else has stated.

the US has several assembly plants and factories in Mexico - doesn't mean those products are mexican
