How the heck do I take care of these stripe decals? There are so many different opinions...

What color stripes do you have?

I've polished over clear coated stripes with no problems. Just be sure to avoid the edges.

I have a yellow 1LT with the Black rally stripes. I've never owned a vehicle with any type of vinyle on it before so my question is this...
when i wax the car, do i just wax right over the vinyle stripes as well or do i try to avoid getting wax on them?

Ok, my car got hit by a deer. Yes, the deer hit me, not me hitting it. Luckily, I only have several surface scratches. No dents or deep gashes.

I was thinking of getting Zainos before I got the scratches. Does there product handlle this issue or should I go with Adams with the PC. The end result with Adams looks good, but looks very detailed and involved compared to Zainos.

Thanks for your help.

Ed,
I washed, claybared and used Z5 on my car once but I still had these tiny scratches in the paint. They look like a straight pin was lightly run over the car, you can hardly see them, unless your looking for them. Like I am. So, today I washed and did the Z5 again, but it doesnt seem to be getting at these. What do I do to get rid of these little scratches. Otherwise the paint is beautiful.

thanks for your time on this georgous weekend!

Kate

I am an Adam's user. But I never limit myself to just one thing. There is no one size fits all for me. I've used maguire's too, but decided to try Zaino. I just ordered Z2, Z5, the accelerator stuff, and Z6. I read on the Zaino site how to use it and have seen some YouTube videos. The big thing I hear is "a little goes a long way". When you apply the Z5 or Z2, does it haze? The videos aren't close in enough to see it haze. Does it wipe off easily? Varied opinions on different forums so I'll decide for myself. I know you use it Ed, would like a little guidance. Thanks

Some application "tips";

- Dampen the applicator prior to polishing as this will help spread the polish.

- Use about a dime size dollop of polish per body panel. A little goes a loonngg way. Even though it may look like there's not much polish being applied, you want to spread it very thinly. With Zaino, you only need a little to achieve a great shine and durability.

- Depending on the temps., you'll want to let it "sit" for at least a 1/2 hr., even using ZFX. It will create a slight haze as it dires. ( I Zainoed my Jeep this weekend with temps. close to 60* and allowed the polish to sit for an hour before removal.)

- Just as in the application, remove in straight lines; front to back for trunk, roof and hood; top to bottom on sides. It will not leave any residue and is very easy to remove.

- Some folks will wipe the car down with Z6 between applications. I do not.

I hope that helped. Please let me kow if I can help you further.

Ed

That's great! The site says to use Z6 between applications to help it bond. You've used it though so I'll give it a shot. When you say dampen the applicator, is that with the Z6, or just water?

I'm using the Z5 on an '06 Vibe that's similar to the CGM Camaro. Topping it off with Z2. I can't believe I figured out all the "Z's"! Thanks for your help.

There's no harm in using Z6 between coats. I prefer to save it for use at car shows.

As for dampening the appilcator, I just use water.

Hey Ed, have you ever used WD40 to clean off road tar? What do you think of using WD40 on the paint?

Thanks again Ed.

Hi!

If you're looking for an "over the counter" product, I'd recommend either Mothers California Gold Showtime Instant Detailer or Meguires Ultimate Qwik Detailer.

Hi

WD40 is OK to use, but I'd recommend washing the affected area afterwards and maybe hit it wait a quick detailer too.
