finally, getting close to pulling the trigger on a Camaro

Well, I think I finally have the CFO on my side. I'm taking her out again to look at a couple of Camaros at Royal Chevrolet; they've got 7 or 8 in stock and I want to show her some color combinations.
I also stopped at Luck Chevrolet, which is about 7 miles from my house. (They tell me they're not honoring the GM discount, but Royal is.)
I'm going to go for the 2LT/RS/auto, and I originally was going to get a summit white/orange stripe with the two tone interior. Then I saw a summit white with custom blue (almost ABM) color rally stripes. Then, the rally yellow/black stripes started calling my name...

I've been living in the pictures thread on the board here, taking in all the different colors and work that owners been posting in pictures. I'm leaning towards the white, but I think I'll go with the black interior... but I guess either one would be a great color.... damn choices. (BTW, Royal has one of the new synergy green on display. Awesome color...)

Anyone here have any dealings with either Royal or Luck? The guys at Royal seemed to be more knowledgeable about the Camaro, and the Luck dealership has pissed me off about the discount. But, I'd probably use Luck for service because they are so close...any feedback would be appreciated.

Anyway, I can't wait til I get this car. Just wanted to share, and at the same time thank everyone that's posted here...some damn fine people and cars on this site.

goshawk - I think you are in the place a lot of us were when we started looking for our cars. At least the dealerships near you have some color choices so you can go and see them in person and get a feel for what you want. I think there are a few people on here that have had experience with luck, I'm sure they'll chime in. Good luck in the whole process.

Thanks for the reply...
The gentleman that I spoke with at Luck was really nice; he offered me a test drive, but as the dealership was already closed, I didn't want anyone to get into trouble in the event something happened on the test drive.

I like most of the colors on this car; I've seen just about all of them (haven't seen an IBM yet...). I would be happy driving in just about any of them.

I'm still interested in hearing from anyone with their dealership experience with any of the local Chevy dealerships...

You kind of need to say where 'local' is. Mid-Atlantic is a 4 or 5 state area I see your profile says VA, but northern Va? Richmond? VA Beach/Norfolk area? South?

I've never heard of Luck or Royal, so I'm guessing you're not in Northern VA... -shrug-

Apologies for the lack of location info. Central VA, Richmond area.

Just left Royal Chevrolet. Took a 2LT automatic for a test drive, and will probably be ordering my car next week. Gotta see what I'll get for my current ride too.

Rally Yellow won.

goshawk823, I'm not from area but PM SS_IN_Black. He is in Richmond area and has bought in that area. Let him know CruznSS told ya to PM him. From what I have seen so far service is 90% of battle. If you plan any future mods see what they will honor. If you splice a wire, change exhaust, add headers etc., warrenty issues may help where to buy. Colonial Chevrolet in Norfolk that helped us start our HRCC club pretty much told us to bring our cars to them and they would honor warrenty for most mods except - super charger / turbos. Goodluck, do your research, and you should be fine..... CruznSS

thanks for the info... I'll follow up.
As far as mods go, I'm passing on the facrtory stripes. Going with gloss black over the matt black, and the guy doing this dealership's striping also does a smaller hockey stick stripe. I may go with both rally and those smaller hockey sticks. Only other mod I'm considering at this time is the heritage grill.

goshawk823, I purchased at luck chevrolet back in May last year. I was their first delivered. Great dealership. Small, and the service department takes care of their customers.

My salesman was Jim Hogge. If you go there, tell him Ernie sent you. He should have pictures up of my car. Great guy.

The one on the lot that I drove was exactly what I wanted, except for the factory stripes. I just don't like the flat finish stripes, but I don't want to pay for them just to have them removed for new ones. So I'll order one and get exactly what I want, which works out timing wise for me. I was going to buy one beginning of May.

What I'll probably order:
2LT Rally Yellow
RS
Automatic
Polished Wheels- Since I saw them, I like them better than the midnight silver. They're not chrome, just a nice finish to them.
The one I drove had the doughnut spare as well... I'll probably get that too.

Then I'll get their guy to add the glossy rally stripes and hockey sticks.

thanks edog. I like their location and convenience, and I may use them for service, but the fact that they won't honor my discount has turned me off to them for the sale. It's over a grand off the MSRP.

Sounds good. When I ordered mine, the MSRP was the best anyone was getting. They were one of the few not jacking the price up. Have fun and enjoy the process. I am sure I will see you around at a meet or two after you get yours.
