What do you guys mean 'Over Revving"

Wouldnt that be taking it to/past redline?

He's not really over revving exactly because technically that's exactly what you said "going past redline" however dropping the gears like that at higher RPM's puts a lot of strain on the transmission and can cause it to fail sooner than someone who is driving it normal and downshifting/shifting in the "normal" RPM ranges. Then again I have the A6 so what would I know

maybe he was doing it for show a little bit ? I don't get on it that hard all the time, have to pick spots where it's safe to do and won't land me in jail.

Not literally...

Junk = Stuff....

Like when I told my wife this morning....

"The other day I was getting outta the shower and I turned around and my 7 yr old Daughter was right there. I'm pretty sure she saw my junk."

LMAO,

Will these transmissions hold up to heavy abuse on a daily basis?

All my honda's in the past lasted about 60k miles before they needed new transmissions.

I drive slower now that I'm older, but driving a camaro might change that

Believe me it will haha after owning my car a week I said "Man I'm still getting 17.8 MPG this is awesome!!" and now after two weeks have passed I'm saying "Man 16 MPG...what happened?" haha

I think the transmissions on these cars are solid no doubt but with consistent abuse even the most bullet proof of trannys will slip eventually...

Uh no way would I do that to my car. Its one thing to drive it hard dropping it down a gear like that is just dumb. If you are sitting at 3000 RPMs and punch it in 2nd or 3rd you are going to take off without messing up your transmission.

Seriously, I've never been in a car driven like that. I would hate to be the second owner of that car when it sells.
That is exactly why I would never buy a used Muscle car, you never know what the heck the previous owner did to the thing.

he has warranty who cares?

Hot driving the crap out of your car so the next owner can enjoy it?

That's like not having sex with your girlfriend so her next boyfriend can enjoy her.

Well im 23 as well with a LS3 SS and yes I drive it like that. Not all the time though. I drive normal if im going to work or to the store. Atleast a few times a week I go through the gears some. Im not afraid to take it to redline and slam some gears. Thats what these cars are for. I get sideways every once in awhile but dont do burnouts much after seeing how these tires hold up. Ive had 2 other camaros, a built monte carlo ss and a built chevelle ss. Treated them all the same way. Blew transmissions and engines up and learned how to fix them and make them stronger. If something breaks then just make it better, also learned a ton. I know this is not how alot of people treat there cars, but I have a blast with every car I own, and love working on them. So it works for me. Why get a car with 426hp and not use it? sounds like a huge waste of money to me.

I'm 23 also.

Will I take it in third gear up to 75 when merging on the highway? Absolutely.

Will I drop to first at 4 grand to break the tires loose in the city? Nope.

Never really had it sideways, Never really had to rev match over 3k or so. I'll stomp on it now and again, but nothing these cars can't handle

mine sees reline 5 or 6 times a day. It also gets a flogging two days a week at the drag strip with 150 to 200 hp shots of nitrous. I have replaced everything on the car but the tranny and driveshaft though. I defenitely did not buy the car for the next person to enjoy.
