i've never seen 500rwhp from just a cam swap. most LS3's ive seen to get near those numbers have needed LT's, tune, exhaust.... etc.

I believe they all ran the 255s. That's a little help, but I'll definitely agree this thing needs some more rubber.

Sorry I didnt explain. Just referring to the universal term cam only. Which from my days on LS1tech means that you have a cam plus supporting mods. So yes...LT's, CAI, CAM and tune. One would have to be an idiot to put in a big cam with no supporting mods.

You have to have a BIG cam to hit 500 to the wheels cam only but it has been done. 500 with Heads and Cam....now thats not very uncommon at all.

This 5.0 will not touch LS3 power numbers by swapping cams, adding headers (even though it has them all ready), a CAI (it has one all ready). And a tune.

Cut it how you want. NA for NA the camaro is still king

did anyone feel as if the camaro was completely bashed almost? When the Camaro came out they said good things things about certain aspects of it, but now in certain articles they go as so far to call them cheap. Hmmmm I hope GM answers for 2011...

It had the performance tire option with 255 pirellis.

The most I could see is offering factory headers on both the L99 and LS3 motors, a better intake and maybe a gear option.

Pretty late in the 2011 development cycle for any really significant internal changes in the motors.

2012 MY however..could be extremely interesting

Did they re-design the interior? last years test in the motor trend video they said the camaro interior was higher quality and also ripped the mustang for having gaps in the body panel. Now they say the interior is just amazing along with everything else etc etc

I guess mags will just say whatever they are getting payed to say...I have lost some faith in them after witnessing obvious hypocrisy

The ones I read praised the Mustangs higher quality interior, but said the Camaro had the overall better interior(innovation, etc).

What all the Camaro fans are experiencing is a exact duplicate of what 2010 Mustang fans felt when the majority of the motor mag's hailed the Camaro.

Just a pendulum swinging folks, if GM does it right (which I'm sure they will)..it'll swing back in 2011 when the 2012 MY Camaro's start making appearances.

Yes! They also talked about the suspension and how the IRS was good but now in Autoblog's they called it cheap and clunky? I agree magazines just seem less n less reliable...in Jalopnik's this is what they said "Full disclosure: Ford wanted us to drive the 2011 ‘Stang so badly they made us wake up at 3am to catch the first flight out to LA and then put us up in a hotel we were too jet lagged to remember. Also, they fed us, but that was apparently forgettable too." Hmmmmmm free trip to LA, hotel air and food payed for....sounds like I should work for a reviewing website.

The interior is better when you get premium package. The 2SS/RS I drove last week doesn't come close to my GT500. (FYI, I'm not saying the Camaro's interior is bad) Before you oh the GT500 is better, it's really not other than the alcantara in the seats and on the wheel.

On it's first run the Mustang GT hits a 12.8, you don't seriously think the numbers wont get better as time goes on do you? Long term I'm looking for 12.6 second times from the auto rags.
What ****** tree did you fall from? Inside line, Motor Trend, Hot Rod and a couple other mags tested the Camaro at 12.9 @ 110-111. 500 HP? Seriously? You can't believe that. My car went 12.7 with an intake and tune and a 2.09 60', looks like GM needs to add the 3.73 gears from the factory and call it a day. The GT benefits from mid-length headers and a CAI from the factory. GM can do the same and really wax the GT.

Let's see what GM has up their sleeve for 2011. Either way I'm not worried with the new pony, it's pretty much right where I expected it. Bolt-on's won't do much and 4 cams are pretty expensive to change. Another thing I don't understand is how they can rave about the interior. It's the same interior as the 2010 right? Feels cheap to me. A couple of notches below the Camaro.

you know..you could..ya know..trade it in for a new 5.0.

Your car is new, still has its value and is more than likely in really good shape.

You could be the first Mustang owner on C5 to get themselves into a new 5.0...

Depending on the purchase price he'd take a $5 to $8k bath easy. 2010 GT's are selling new with heavy discounts.

I thought about trading up to the 2011 GT500 but it was going to cost me about $10k.
