Hey Everyone,

Great meet and all. It was awesome to meet all of you. Well got some bad news and I really need help. I was driving home got caught in some construction/traffic on The Taconic. When the traffic lightened up a car in front of me must of hit a patch of loose gravel and WHAM!!! I now have about 8 to 10 rock chips on my car. I gotta say very upset because I thought the paint job should of held up. I don't know what to do. I had only 3 or 4 chips over a year period and just got them patched up that Thursday.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I am truly considering returning my car to get it repainted because I feel the paint job was not done right. Is that even possible??? I was ready to sell my car and just be done with it, but after calming down I love this car so much, I need to do something else.

Do you think I can have a case with GM? The gravel was very small rocks and soft. You know when the patch up those pot holes and the gravel is not dry yet?

Hey,

Sorry to hear that.

I actually saw you on 287, I went home first to switch cars and then drove to CT. I was going to honk and wave, but then you would be like "Who the hell is that in the grey Yukon" ha ha.

The chips are very small but I feel touching them all up will make it look even worse. The only thing I have going is that it sorta looks a little like a metallic flake from the paint.

Thanks for the info! I am going to my dealer this week. I am going to say they need to do something. It should be covered in the warranty. one or two chips in a year is acceptable, but this is crazy. Yes, my car is no Ferrari. lol, but I still payed nearly 40K for it and that is not supposed to happen to this kind of car of that value.

OUCH SUCKS MAN!

Worth a shot...but doubt the dealer is gonna do much. Throw some rocks at any car and the paint is gonna chip. This has me thinking more seriously about a clear-bra.

I called my dealer this morning. The manager said to bring it in so they can look at it to determine if it faulty paint or normal wear and tear. 6,000 miles on a car, with 18 chips is no wear and tear in my book. I hardly even took the car out for the winter. It looks like I might have to get the entire car repainted.

GOOD LUCK! Just the fact that they are willing to take a look might be a good sign. If they do fix anything for you, just make sure they use a reputable shop.

let Xmicro (paul) know if you're interested. He knows a good installer, was trying to setup a group buy/install.
