How much boost do you need to push out of a maggie to get a blower whine that can be heard as well as the kenn bell.

I don't think it really is a matter of boost (although spinning it faster will produce a bit more whine) and how much to get the whine. From my experiences, the K/B has always been a bit louder than whipple or Eaton (although my Ported Eaton really had that whine!!) ...

With my current setup, I could hear some whine at 6psi .. now I'm at 9psi and it is a bit more noticable, but nothing like a K/B

how loud is your exhaust. Mine has mufflers but does not sound like it under pull. I wondered if that is most of the reason the whine is not noticable. but if yours is loud i might be able to get there.

Big belt upgrade should get you the wine you want!!! Talk to Ted at Jannetty Racing he should be able to help!!!

You will never get a maggie to whine like KB. I have a 8 rib pulley set with a 2.80 pulley and a 10% overdrive pulley and you can definitely hear it whine but nothing like a KB. Just download a KB sound bit off youtube and turn your stereo up really loud.....LOL

Maybe I am too old but I think you are missing something. The goal is to quiet the blower. Much like turbine engines on airliners. The maggie 1900 sounded like a police car coming down the street. The 2300 is what I think most people want. Loud was ok when I was much younger but now I want the understated ellegence of stealth and sophstication which the maggie 2300 has. Not sure this is the result you are looking for. However, if you want WHINE then install a coged belt at the back of the Maggie and you will have what you may be looking for. Just my 2 cents.

bottom line is the performance. i would not mind a little understated whine. just enough to hear. I am not looking for the scream that used to come from the big b&m blowers i used to see on big blocks. You can hear those over open headers. just a touch so that not heard while sitting beside me on the start line. but when light turns green a did i hear a whine. Just enough I hope that makes sense. I know i might not have explained myself very good at all. Im guilty of that allot.

IMO thats the fun part of the supercharger TO HEAR IT! i am putting on a maggie right now and was told you cant hear it at low rpm's. not real happy about that but what can you do. the performance is the goal here not the sound so much.
