Question cam install FOR LS3?

HAS ANYONE INSTALLED A CAM UPGRADE ON THERE THERE LS3? I CONCIDER MYSELF A DIY SELF AND A GEAR HEAD. IVE BUILT A 383 STROKER ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO AND HAD GOOD LUCK WITH IT. MY QUESTION IS HOW DIFFICULT WOULD IT BE DOING THIS IN MY GARAGE?

just did mine last weekend. not that hard. actually pretty easy. didnt even discharge my ac lines

i am also wondering the steps on how to do this upgrade? is a tune needed after install?

I installed Texas Speeds 231/236 Cam on a 112 LSA with West Coast Cylinder Head Stage 2 L92 heads.

It's pretty straight forward.... just remember to get a single bolt cam. You will need a new cam bolt, balancer bolt, and possibyl water pump gaskets. other than that, it's pretty straight forward.

use this as a generic guide as far as how much work you are looking at

just keep in mind the torque specs are different


as for a tune, yes. you need a tune to match the cam.

what about valve lashing. i heard on these lifters you just tourque them down to 22ftlbs. and has anybody had to enlarge he hole in the throttle body.

no 1/4 turn past zero lash on these motors
